Once again, Youngkin gets it right:
https://www.wsj.com/articles/virginia-electric-vehicles-california-rules-glenn-youngkin-gavin-newsom-82a496a1 I’m very pleased with his mostly moderate, cautious common sense approach to things. Keep bringing it! |
| Ew, David. |
| California has a long history of folly when it gets ahead and tries to drive national policy environmental policy. Specifically on EVs alone, California in the 1990s tried to mandate quotas for EV sales in the state at a time when no EVs were even available. It had to abandon that regulation and it had no impact on the development of EV vehicles. This mandate is just a carbon copy of the past and is designed to hurt lower income people the worst. |

Well this is really good news!!!
CA has lost it's minds!!!!! |
WSJ op-ed trash VA falling behind with RWNJs at the helm. |
| Meh, Virginia's market isn't large enough to matter. If California phases out gas engines, automakers will have to figure out EV because their market is big enough to matter |
|
What a terrible governor Youngkin is. Thankfully his political career is over after he fumbled the midterms and he'll be out of office in 18 months.
Guy is a pandering dweeb with no actual policy convictions. It's embarrassing. |
| Oh neat, so policy that will be changed with the next D governor |
Good for Youngkin. As an aside, does WSJ not allow you to gift articles for free? I'm not a subscriber. |
| Great! He isn't as bad as you guys cried about this whole time! In fact I'm pretty happy with him. |
He hasn't actually done anything. I still have to pay taxes on groceries. None of claims about empowering parents (whatever than even means) happened |

Heavy luxury SUV EVs are not what we need. ICE cars sized like cars from the 90s are what we need. Better for the environment and pedestrians.
Mandating EVs is about as dumb as when Europe forced diesel on everyone. Look how they walked back from that and pretend it never happened now. |
|
Great news. EVs will happen when they are so great people can't resist them. Right now my experience is pretty poor.
Of course I drive a stick and won't even buy a car with an automatic transmission. |
| There will be no "gas powered cars" in 70 years so who cares that he is hastening it's end? |
