I haven’t been weighing myself because it got too frustrating, so I took measurements and decided I’d weigh in in a month. I took measurements today and I’m down .25” or slightly more in each measurable area! I’m also seeing more muscle definition, and my clothes are fitting better. I want to step on the scale so badly right now just to see but vow to wait the month.
Any small wins you’d like to share? |
I'm down a size. Dropped 10 lbs last month and went from a 2 to a 0. |
Great job!! You want a surprise at the end of the month? |
I hope a happy one! |
Weight loss isn't linear. It's better to do a daily weigh in, unless you think it's affecting your mentality too much. |
I was extremely frustrated at a complete inability to lose weight... weeks of hard work could be destroyed by one or two days with the in-laws or celebrating a birthday, travelling for work, etc. Felt like after 40, my body would not let me lose weight.
Posted about it two weeks ago on DCUM ("can't lose weight" thread) and then doubled down on being religously careful about what I eat, logging it in my Noom app... and I've shed 5lbs in slow, consistent declines every day. Made it through a weekend with good food and nights out, and didn't slip. Once again feeling like I have the power to do this! |
ummmm |
thanks for the inspo … did you increase activity or try to do low carb? |
No, noom doesn't push you towards either, just staying in your calorie range. I upped my activity a bit—but am conscious of needing more calories when I exercise too much. Not just per the Noom recs, but I get super hungry and inevitably eat something less than healthy. Also, I'd say that when I posted in frustration, I had started trying to eat better and had been more active and had lost 1.5-2 lbs over the previous two weeks, but it felt like it was the same 2lbs I had been losing over and over and over, and it's been 3lbs since then. So five pounds over 4 weeks, which is pretty conservative, but it's been steady. Minor but steady. I guess the frustration for me is that previously, I was able to shed weight very quickly with minor changes to my diet or increases in activity, and okay, the weight always came back, but it came back slowly. Recenlty it's felt like it comes off SUPER slow and comes back SUPER fast. I'm still far far from my goal, and then keeping it off obviously will be key, but for the first time in a long, long time, I feel like I've made some decent, sane progress, feel in control and have had two weeks of wins. |
I tore my meniscus a few months ago.
This morning I ran (jogged, a 12 min mile pace) for 6 straight minutes. Then I did a bunch of intervals for another 30 minutes. It was my first attempt at a run/jog in months. And... it felt ok! We'll see how I feel tomorrow... I don't have lofty goals - but I do want to be able to run a 5k again. |
Nice work! |
I've been traveling a lot for work and had fell into some bad eating & sleeping habits. I put on 12-13 lbs in the past year and was really feeling self conscious about my appearance. Around late April/May, with summer approaching I finally got serious about trying to get my eating under control. I've also been walking a ton. Now I am down 8 lbs and feeling much better in my clothes.
Yesterday I wore a semi fitted dress to work and left for the airport right after and was getting compliments left and right, even from the uber driver. It was a nice confidence boost. |
That's more than a small win! Sounds like a big win! Congrats! |
I’ve lost about 35 lbs from various things, not all good, but I’m excited about losing a cup size. I went from a D to a C and because I’m of a certain age and they sag, the smaller size looks so much better! |
