Anyone know of any African American boys LAX teams in the area, possibly Baltimore/Silver Spring that also play at the club level?

Winner's lacrosse: https://www.winnerslacrosse.org/washington-dc However all the clubs have players of all races. |
| In my opinion, when looking for a club it is important to focus more on the things that matter - like convenience and skills development - and less on the things that don't matter - like the race of other players. Lacrosse is a sport that desperately needs more diversity, not less (again, in my opinion). |

Agree with the above. Playing a sport (especially lacrosse) isn't the place for that. Join Jack and Jill or send him to a HBCU.
(as a parent of 2 black D1 lacrosse players) |
Exactly. This seems almost troll like in asking the question. You had a much better response than my snarky one that I was going to respond with. |
OP here. race isnt nonsense. thanks to those who took this serious for the rest of you, you'd never say the same if I asked for LGBT friendly LAX teams. your prejudice is apparent and hence the need for more diverse team |
OP here. thanks, will check out. doesnt have to be exclusively AA but going to a Bethesda LAX tryout and see if you can find any diversity. |
OP here. As a black parent of 2 boys learning lax, I dont agree and this is a terrible take. some people care more about just themselves. |
With all due respect to the OP, a parent 2 black D1 lacrosse players, having been through the whole process, would be a wealth of knowledge and good source of guidance for someone just starting out. |
nah, we will be fine. I already can follow the route you went...plenty of my white friends can help. good luck to your and yours though |
If you had asked about an all-white team I would have had the same negative reaction because seeking out segregated lacrosse teams sounds like a terrible idea to me. |
| I am now convinced this is indeed a troll just trying to start trouble on a sensitive subject. Proceed with caution people. |
| Ok to give the OP the benefit of the doubt, you should check out Clippers lacrosse and the parent 1812 LLC founded by Kyle Harrison. I think you used the incorrect term. While I think the notion of an AA lacrosse team is not inclusive or diverse, a team founded by an AA player who actively seeks to attract more AA players to the game is a wonderful thing for the sport and worthy of your support. |
So the answer to any type of racism or bias isn't segregation. So not sure what your point is. |

Locally Next Level seems to be the most diverse.
While none of the teams in the area are very diverse and my experience with this is about 4 years old, my son's AA friends joined a national team I think it was called Nations United and Showcased with them. So they played on a local club, HS and the Nations United showcase team. |
