I want a designer handbag

Anonymous
I know it is silly but I want a designer handbag and I reecntly got an unexpected work bonus so I am going to buy one but I am paralyzed by choices.

So if you had to buy a bag today- what would it be. I prefer either a tote or a crossbody.

These are in the running:

I'd do the Vuitton. It will be an heirloom.

At 2k buy the one you’ll use most.

Loulou in grey

I would go to Tysons 2 on a weekday and try them on in person. That’s part of the fun of a designer bag, plus you can see which strikes your fancy and which colorway you prefer.

Huge tote that is casual and two small versatile purses. Go see in person or check measurements. Will your stuff fit? Sunglasses too?
I like the idea of the smaller bag for dress, work, etc for the ages but the logos look tacky.

Out of those three, the LV. The Gucci looks tacky and something is off with the proportions of the YSL LouLou.

I bought a Speedy at Wardrobe Rescue in Vienna (they tend to have a lot of preloved designer bags. I never carry it. I wish I’d bought a Neverfull instead.

Get one on the RealReal. Don't waste your money on new.

I love the LV Graceful. But I would do the traditional monogram. It will age better.

I'm not a fan of any noticeable designer bags other than LV or Hermes. So there's that. (I have them both.) But my daily runaround bag is a Parker Thatch Medium Jane. https://parkerthatch.com/products/medium-jane-slouch-bag-leather-luggage-1

Agreed that if you can go into a store or boutique you'll get a better sense of the size.

Just my personal opinion : at that price point, I'd like a bag that at least holds some value if I want to resell it in a few years.
Gucci, YSL and Ferragamo don't hold much value unfortunately.
I'd go with the LV but would also look at second hand bags and now buy new. Let someone else take that depreciation for you and you can get more bag for your buck.

The Real Real is a good resource but so is eBay. eBay has their own authentication service where the seller ships it to get authenticated before it gets shipped to you.

The YSL. The Gucci is a bit juvenile (but if you are younger, then go for it).

The gucci and ysl are trendy styles. I suggest the LV graceful or neverful in monogram empreinte.
