Do you think most men just prefer blonde hair?
I think I look more attractive with brown hair (with highlights), but I get a ridiculous amount more attention with long plat blonde hair. The attention is both positive & negative. Positive = Way more men seem to find me attractive, even if my face looks bad. It's like the long, bright blonde hair gives an instant halo effect. Negative = More aggressive approaches and harassment... people talk down to me and speak to me like I'm a moron. I get zero respect in work environments. I am turning 30 soon, so I thought I'd revamp my appearance. After months of being platinum blonde (and feeling like I look kind of uglier & more washed out imo), I've concluded that most men prefer blonde hair. I get hit on and approached constantly. Even sitting in a hotel lobby, waiting in line, going to the grocery store or the bank. It seems like men find me way more attractive than before (but I also experience more random aggression and harassment). I can't even go pick up food at a restaurant without getting comments on my appearance. But looking at old photos, I seriously think I look more attractive as a brunette. So I don't know whether to stay blonde or not. |
| As a man, blondes aren't my thing at all, but I can't speak for other men. |
I mean…I am a brunette and I also got approached constantly in my 20s. |

What's your goal here? Do you want to feel attractive to men or do you want to look good for yourself?
The former = blonde and the latter = brunette. |
| You don’t want to attract a man who prefers blondes, because then you’ll be chained to dye forever. Find someone who loves your natural color. |
| You could do an experiment for 3-6 months and see if you can really find a high quality guy with blond hair. If you only attract doofuses it’s obviously not worth it. |
| yes, it's attractive. Blonds have more fun, too. |
I have a good friend who used to dye her hair blonde. She did get a lot of attention. A guy I know said that at first glance, she could be considered "pretty" but really looking at her, she wasn't that attractive. I think it is the hair because of the stereotype. She is now in her 50s and stopped dying her hair. It's a mousy brown. |
| Yes, lots of blondes on the news. |
| I think there are other body parts that men are more interested in and I say that as a blonde. |
| It’s attractive |
| I think healthy hair looks attractive and most dyed blonde hair looks dried out. However I’m not a man. |
Men don't care about dried out looking hair, unless they are gay. |
| Most people look best within about 2 shades frim their natural color, so not surprised it washes you out. Blonde hair that is both bleached platinum and long is also a specific look that I'm sure attracts a lot of attention since it's so unnatural looking and kind of Playboy Bunnyish. |
| Men prefer the carpet to match the drapes. |
