| I know they only took a handful last year. Anyone know how do they usually do it? A few at a time? All at once and then done? Seems like they took a few yesterday based on this board and a few other places. Is there a pattern? Of course they'll be full at some point but it seems like other schools have had more of a pattern. NYU for example has worked it for a few weeks. So has Vanderbilt but so has Duke this year. (of course, different tiers and different amounts of kids - just making comparisons) |
| I've heard that ivies do small waves. No personal experience though. Good luck! |

DS is in at an Ivy, but he desperately wants Brown. Hope the WL clears!! They should allow kids to swap..

| Extensive current thread on this. https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/60/1205179.page#27506590 |
Not healthy. Chances are minuscule. DS should love the school that loves him. |
Well if they are in at ivy already their future is secured! |
Honestly has been wanting Brown over the "higher-ranked" Ivy that picked him. I agree. I think Brown would be a better fit. But, we are clearly all powerless againt the Ivy admissions gods. |
| What is the other Ivy and why does your DC prefer Brown over that school? |
Princeton. Open curriculum. |
| My son got off 5/14 and had until 5/21 to decide. We saw a couple kids there at same time who were also off when we revisted. Saw a few more coming off after that initial. |
| We know a set of legacy twins who came off last week. |
I know them too, but it's rude to post something so easily identifying. |
Don’t know them but why? Clearly they didn’t keep it a secret if two people know. Great for them. |
??? How is it rude. Not like PP posted first and last names. |
| yep. the kids are 100% open (on social media and real life) about getting off the waitlist. The parent uses a @brown.edu personal email. It's hardly a state secret in any way. |
