This applies to everyone who was part of the gunfire that night, including Rittenhouse.

Yes, but he shouldn’t be in prison for it.

The guy who was shot was carrying a concealed firearm illegally to a riot. And then he chased down Rittenhouse and drew on him from an elevated position three feet away. While Rittenhouse was in the street sitting on his butt. The guy who was shot deserved it. There shouldn’t even be a trial here.

Rittenhouse came from out of state to kill people.

...and he did that by cleverly tempting them to attack him?

So Rittenhouse killed a guy - no one else was killing people at the riot, so this was pretty shocking for everyone. Then the mob tried to disarm him, including by using a skateboard and whatever was at hand. Rittenhouse then shot someone and killed another. The mob was obviously motivated by self-defense. Rittenhouse is trying to say that he was motivated by self-defense too, but he had already showed the mob that he was extremely dangerous.

Does this seem like a tricky 1L hypothetical to you? Or an easy one?

You’re leaving out some key facts. As the HD video played at the trial today showed, KR clearly retreated from the first guy and didn’t shoot the first guy until KR was cornered and the first guy was lunging at him at arm’s distance.

As video has clearly shown, KR then retreated almost two full blocks from the first shooting when the second and third shootings occurred. KR was on the ground in a defenseless position when the jump kick guy, then skate board guy and finally handgun guy attacked KR.

Based on the evidence known today, this isn’t a tricky 1L hypothetical at all. This seems like he’s going to successfully assert self defense and walk away.

You say he retreated; from another perspective, he fled the scene. There were tons of lawless thugs and multiple people carrying, but everyone who got shot was shot by the same guy.

...and everyone that got shot attacked that guy. Oddly enough nobody who didn't attack him got shot.

Rosenbaum didn't "attack" Rittenhouse. Witnesses testified Rosenbaum posed no credible threat. All Rosenbaum had was a grocery bag with some deodorant and socks in it. Yet Rittenhouse freaked out, overreacted and shot him. That's where it all started. Others then tried to get the gun off of Rittenhouse so that he wouldn't shoot anyone else.

Rosenbaum chased KR. Rosenbaum was about 15 yards away in a parking lot. KR ran between cars, Rosenbaum followed him. KR was blocked. He turned around just as Rosenbaum reached him. Rosenbaum lunged at KR. KR shot him. The medical examiner, a prosecution witness, testified today that Rosenbaum was had gun powder on his hands indicating Rosenbaum was about to the rifle. Video footage that had not been precisó you publicly available was shown today and you can find it on Twitter (graphic). PROSECUTION Witnesses testified that Rosenbaum earlier in the evening threatened KR.

Others then chased KR two blocks, tried to kick KR in the head while he was on the ground, hit KR in the head with a skateboard while he was on the ground, and finally approached KR to arm’s distance with a gun drawn and pointed the gun at KR.

I can sort of understand why people might believe KR is guilty before all this evidence and testimony came out. But after? I think ideological bias against KR is the reason people now want him convicted.

If the rioters hadn't attacked him they would be alive. There wasn't a lot of good judgement being demonstrated by anyone present that night, but the people who got shot made the key decisions that led to that outcome.

I don’t think the prosecutors charged KR with any of the available lesser offenses. Hence, he will be acquitted and walk free. Prosecutors were too narrow minded in charges and influenced by political climate.

Absolutely. The prosecution has made a better case for Rittenhouse's acquittal than his defense could possibly make. This trial should have NEVER happened.

Once he is acquitted, he should file a few lawsuits for slander - start with Ayanna Pressley and Ilhan Omar. Then turn to Joe Biden himself. Then, go after MSNBC, CNN, and the hosts and guests on this show who pontificated and shaped a narrative that was completely false.

+1. The prosecution known all these facts the entire case and lied and withheld key facts to suit their narrative. And they tried to take advantage of the probably autistic photographer and make him change his story. I hope they get sued into oblivion and charged with corruption.

(Also why did the FBI withhold their drone video so long? This whole thing could have been cleared up months ago by anyone honest).

I think we have a lot of pathetic, angry little men in this country. This is not a precedent we need to set in this country. You Rittenhouse defenders are some seriously sick puppies.

Gaige Grosskreutz had zero reason to be there. Gaige Grosskreutz illegally brought an unlawful gun to a BLM protest so he could star in his own first person shooter game. Everything that happened is Gaige Grosskreutz fault.

I think we have a lot of pathetic, angry little deluded, paranoid FaceBook dupes in this country, who lack any critical thinking skills. This is not a precedent that sadly already exists in this country. You Gaige Grosskreutz defenders are some seriously sick puppies.
