i know the situation is difficult but i wonder how this is linked to the trigger happy tendency of the IDF, see the Israeli civilian who faced the attackers in Jerusalem only to be shot dead by Israeli police while on the ground with her hands up pleading for his life and not being a threat. outrage only because he was a Israeli hero and everything was caught on camera, if he was an arab and no cameras were around then who cares

Is this true? Or misinformation? Did IDF actually kill three hostages?

Yes, unfortunately. Three men that had managed to escape.

I don't how those IDF soldiers live with themselves. Gun trigger idiots. They and their entire command structure need to be removed. It's so sad.

You have no clue what these soldiers are facing in war. Just a couple days earlier, 10 IDF soldiers were killed in this area when they were ambushed. These soldiers are dealing with an enemy that is not moral, does not abide by rules of war, and has no problem pulling tricks to ambush and murder the enemy.
I am terribly saddened for the hostages killed and their families.
I am also saddened for the IDF soldier(s) who made this tragic mistake. He/she will have to live with that the remainder of his/her life.

They are just standing off and blowing everything up. Look at the amount and type of munitions used. They are not a disciplined fighting force but a mob killing any civilian that moves. The goal is to terrorize the civilian population. Hope you are proud of Israel.

There is serious concern about the IDF ability to fight as shown by their inability to locate and engage Hamas. All indications are the IDF will attack Hezbollah next. I do not think they have the capability to fight Hezbollah and Biden will commit US ground troops.

This is untrue. If they were "just standing off and just blowing everything up" the IDF death toll would be zero and the Gazan death toll would be orders of magnitude higher than it is. You do not know what you are talking about, and are spreading nonsense.

It is you have no clue about what you are talking about. Just stop with your pathetic pro death squad propaganda. The majority of Israeli casualties have been friendly fire. If they were actually going house to house against Hamas the IDF casualties numbers would be in the thousands not 116. You have absolutely not credibility.

This is complete nonsense, you don't know what you're talking about, and it's time you stop your pathetic pro Hamas terrorist propaganda.

Lol what exactly is nonsense? 116 IDF killed to 20,000 plus civilians? No variable Hamas dead or captured? The IDF friendly fire incident producing more casualties vs Hamas? Killing hostages on sight? Just stop. You are an embarrassment with your Kahanist propaganda. Go cheer your glorious victory in Gaza while standing on 17,000 dead child.

Those civilian death figures are highly questionable. Hamas Health Ministry has been repeatedly caught grossly exaggerating the numbers.

Actual number likely 7,500/20,000 or thereabouts.

Israel’s reputation IS in tatters, and they have guaranteed through their own military strategy (short-sighted and disproportionate) that there will be more generations of anti-Israeli militants to come. So stupid.

However... If they completely destroy Hamas that will send a pretty strong and powerful message to potential anti-Israeli militants about what awaits them if they choose to follow in Hamas's suicidal footsteps.

I’m not sure it will send any sort of message. From what I have read, Hamas was expecting a massive retaliation because that is how Israel generally responds to aggression.

The video of IDF soldiers reciting Shma Israel from a minbar of a mosque in Jenin is the best recruiting tool Hamas could dream of. The story writes itself. And the best thing is that it is totally self inflicted.

Lemmi see: we all know there are hostages in gaza (many men as many women and kids have been released). IDF saw a building with writing of SOS, HELP and HOSTAGES. Day after three young man with no visible weapons and bare chested walked toward them holding a white flag. Two were gunned down, the third ran into a building and was chased by israeli soldiers who shot him dead while he was pleading for his life in Hebrew. I dont think the death toll is exaggerated at all given this behavior

Let me summarize:

IDF killed three unarmed Israelis waving a white flag because it mistook them for three unarmed Palestinians waving a white flag.

Does that about sum it up?

OK.

Okay. Two things.

1. It is illogical to say "bad things happen and people get moved all the time" but conclude this with "Israel is here to stay". If things change and people move, they can change for Israel too.

2. "Everyone comes to an accommodation" not by hugs and kisses, but through restoration of rights. There is a reason Jews can reclaim stolen and compensated property in many places in Europe - because people acknowledged that what happened to them was unjust. They weren't told to just get over it. Israel restores pre-1948 property to Jews who can prove ownership. Not to Arabs, mind you. Never to Arabs. You come to an accommodation when the party that wronged you acknowledges the wrong and makes an effort to compensate for the wrong. "Get over it" is not an accommodation.

3. I find it terribly ironic when people parrot the line of "Palestinians were offered their own state on three different occasions!" but you press them for details and turns out they don't know crap about what was actually offered.

LOL. I can just see the Hamas guards telling the remaining hostages - hey, don't walk toward your army waving a white flag. They have a strange reaction to that stuff.
