Taylor Swift Tour

Shut out yesterday, today with Capital One, I had 2 tickets in my cart then got an error while trying to purchase. It put me back in line, with tix sold out before I got another chance.

My neighbor and her husband (at work) had the same story.

It's the whole process, not just ticketmaster.

Go check to see how many tickets are on resale right now on seatgeek. Both SG and TM are profiting from the resales of what were supposed to be verified fan purchases. They're both culpable, but TM is particularly egregious and a monopoly that needs to be broken up. I don't understand why artists like Gaga and TS can't facilitate ticket sales themselves. I Is it because they're concerts are put on by Live Nation and they need their ticket sale and event promotion infrastructure to perform at these large venues? I mean don't they have enough resources to just do this independently?

Why the feeding frenzy for Taylor Swift? I didn’t realize she was so popular on dcum!

That being said, her album has really grown on me!

We didn’t get tickets. My daughter feels personally victimized by Taylor Swift.

I did not get TS tickets for DD today. But I spent a lot of time on TM. I learned that Imagine Dragons are playing in Dec. They are DSs favorite and he didn’t get to see them this summer. I had no idea they were coming back.

One kid will be happy. Hoping I can get TS tickets tomorrow for the other.

I'm second guessing our purchase. Sort of blacked out and purchased blindly before realizing. $580 for each ticket. Phew. Seems outrageous. We also bought an extra we will probably need to sell.

That's a little extreme.

Philly-- Sunday 5/14, got two $225 tickets after being shut out yesterday. I clicked on the top ticket choice the instant I got into the room and had ZERO idea what i was buying. My two teen daughters may go.

Pittsburgh --shut out --made it into the ticking room, put dozens in my cart but never got any

Minneapolis --shut out --made it into the ticking room, put dozens in my cart but never got any

Denver--was able to put 5 floor seats into my cart but they came to $4500 with fees. I threw them back and wasn't able to get anything else

Las Vegas --shut out --made it into the ticking room, put dozens in my cart but never got any

LA #1 --shut out ----made it into the ticking room but everything was sold out a minute after I arrived

LA #2 (last show of the tour)-- got five $225 tickets. Not sure yet what I'm going to do with these. May sell all or family friends may use these.

My husband pointed out that TS held all the spots in the Top 10 at one point in the past couple of years. Between all those pop fans, her earlier country-adjacent fans, and the people like me who prefer the Covid-era stuff, that’s an unusually broad appeal.

Got 2 tickets via the Capital one sale today for NJ. Just grabbed seats and spent $1200 for 2. Fees were expensive. Spent way too much but dd will be happy. Found what I think is great hotel in Seacaucus for Memorial Day weekend. Will spend Saturday in NYC.

They’re scalpers.

Would I be able to sell a VIP seat and ship the VIP package merch to the buyer?

I listened to a podcast about this and apparently Live Nation is the real monopoly, or at least the part with leverage. They’re basically the only game in town for promotion and Ticketmaster is part of the deal.

Because I have 3 teenagers and I got two tickets in Philly. I figured maybe we could all go to California (family of 5).

Daughter's friend got tix to KC and was also in queue in Minneapolis. I said I'd pay $200 a ticket. Nothing.
