It's good for business. All studies show that if your board is diverse, the company does better. Even if you don't care about diversity (which you clearly don't), it's good for the bottom line.

Because Youngkin seems to have a better appreciation of this than McAuliffe, whose entire political career has been based on patronage and trading favors, he has a good chance of winning. His main weakness is his position on abortion rights, which is at odds with a libertarian view and is a make-or-break issue for many women.

Guess what? Top investment banks and other corporations embrace diversity and inclusion because it helps them attract top talent. This is 100% the norm at the best employers

There are some white people who seem to think teaching about stuff like slavery and Jim Crow is somehow anti-white. As a white lady myself, let me tell you, if learning about the horrors of slavery makes you feel attacked as a white person, you have problems.

Here's what I see......

For so long, many people have "gone along to get along" when it comes to cultural issues. They don't agree with them, but when it doesn't directly affect them, they just let it slide.
CRT is different. It IS affecting anyone with kids in school. And, it affects everyone else because it has seeped not only into schools, but business and the military as well.

So, those of us who have been tolerant and have sat by are finally speaking up. And, the hard left liberals don't like that. They don't know how to respond. And, as a result, they are losing on this issue.

You better believe it is important. And, it is not fear mongering. When some in positions of power think that race is the driving issue behind nearly everything, people will not stay silent.

And, as for slavery - I am in my 60's and you damn well better believe I learned about slavery. And, the horrors of slavery. It wasn't whitewashed as some would claim. And, to what is probably a surprise to you - I was educated in the south.

Now, for the caravan comment......There are no caravans, but there are a record number of encounters at our border. The number grows every month, despite the fact that it is summer and the numbers generally go down. it is predicted we will have over 200,000 encounters in July. And, this is all due to Biden and Harris. They have no border policy. They have f'ed it up royally. And, they will pay in the midterms for this crisis as well as they others they are causing. They can't be out of office soon enough.

No, CRT is a complete straw man argument. And you are gullible for buying into it.

Setting aside the fact that CRT is actually an interesting theory worthy of being taught, it isn’t actually taught in grade school anywhere — there aren’t even age appropriate materials. It is a graduate school level program.

And of course you are in your 60s. Have you considered being evaluated for dementia? You seem to have lost your mind or at least your relationship with reality. I mean that kindly.

Why are CRT resources on FCPS elementary school websites? Just for shits and giggles? CRT isn't being taught in the way it wold be taught to grad students. Its principles are being applied to existing curriculum across every subject.

That’s 10%. Same as the population %. What’s the issue? Btw. If you want more Black board members and CEOs then more Black people need to start companies that are successful. Then they can assign whenever they want as long as they keep a majority stake. Oh, but that’s right. Blacks are handcuffed by 200 years of systemic racism. Oh well, I guess you should just quit and go on the dole then.

You *literally* just mentioned "those crazy liberals" ... then two seconds later said "We are one people, proud Americans."

Hillary was right - you're deplorable. I don't want to be "one people" with you.

Unity through white supremacy- at least the republicans are done pretending

If opposing CRT means you're a white supremacist...... There are a whole lot of white supremacists of color out there.

Here you go. Straight from his campaign website. Not just policies, but plans.

https://www.youngkinforgovernor.com/post/glenn-youngkin-unveils-plan-to-support-our-veterans
Youngkin’s Veteran's plan will focus on Competing, Connecting, and Caring for our Veterans:

COMPETE

As governor, Glenn will accelerate processing by waiving administrative fees for permits and applications for small business start-ups for qualifying veterans. This will reduce barriers to entrepreneurship and allow more to enter the marketplace.
We will eliminate tax on military retirement pay.
We will expand the existing Child Care Subsidy Program, this will allow active-duty primary caregivers to apply for the program prior to separation and ensure there is no gap in childcare coverage in the first 90 days after transition.
CARE

We will ensure veterans are receiving the benefits they’ve earned by increasing the number of Veteran Service Officers (VSOs).
Virginia will develop a gold-standard digital hub to streamline access and foster collaboration across agencies, sectors, and businesses.
Critical positions will be filled at the Virginia Department of Veterans Services while unnecessary positions will be eliminated to free-up dollars and resources.
CONNECT

The Youngkin Administration will eliminate bureaucracy and successfully migrate qualified veterans to opportunities in law enforcement, teaching, and healthcare careers by reducing bureaucratic burden and creating bridge programs.
We will establish an equivalence of Training for military police and law enforcement, build on the existing Military Medics and Corpsman (MMAC) Program, and develop an approved RN program that allows military medics to enter the program as second semester students.
We will foster private-public partnerships with organizations that prioritize and provide peer and mentorship-related programs for transitioning veterans.

https://www.youngkinforgovernor.com/post/glenn-youngkin-unveils-plan-to-restore-academic-standard-of-excellence-in-virginia-schools

The first part of Youngkin’s education plan will focuses on Schools, Students, and Studies, and identifies key actions that can be taken to restore excellence in Virginia's schools, including:

SCHOOLS

Restore the standards by which our schools are measured to actual standards of excellence.
Improve school measurement metrics so we can all see how our schools are doing and where help is most needed.
Increase the number of Academic-Year governor’s Schools, like the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, with a variety of subject areas.
Ensure schools are never again closed unnecessarily for extended periods of time.
STUDENTS

Ensure all children can read, write, and understand math by third grade.
Equip our students to be the top performing students in the country.
Ensure students with disabilities receive all of the services, support, and procedural protections they are entitled to – and listen to parents and students.
Put the power back in the hands of parents by providing them with the information they need to make the best decisions for their children.
STUDIES

Offer more advanced math opportunities instead of holding students back from achievement.
Direct the Department of Education to preserve advanced math classes and the use of advanced diplomas.
Teach kids how to think, not what to think. Encourage critical thinking instead of Critical Race Theory.
Remove politics from the classroom and teach all U.S. history — the good and the bad.

https://www.youngkinforgovernor.com/post/glenn-youngkin-announces-plan-to-combat-human-trafficking-in-virginia

Youngkin’s plan includes three big goals and identifies key actions that can be taken to combat human trafficking, including:

ENFORCE

Create a Governor’s Anti-Trafficking Task Force utilizing the State Trafficking Response Coordinator.
Bring together the commonwealth attorneys, Survivor Advisory Council, and law enforcement to form a coalition and make this a bipartisan priority.
Increase prosecutions and impose jail time as opposed to just a fine. This will put pressure on the buyers and address the demand side of trafficking.
Partner with landlords, investigate IMB tax compliance (many don’t fully report revenue), and work with other private sector partners to shut down IMBs.
Ensure all Virginia law enforcement are thoroughly trained in identifying trafficking cases and interacting with victims.
Work with authorities to ensure social media and tech companies actively fight trafficking on their platforms and are held accountable if they don’t.
EMPOWER

Create a Survivor Advisory Council to receive insights on how to empower survivors.
Provide resources survivors need for mental and behavioral recovery and wellness, focusing on the tools they need to address their trauma moving forward.
Foster public/private partnerships to educate, train, and empower survivors through a career and path to a brighter future.
EDUCATE

Increase education about recognizing the signs of a potential trafficking victim and the appropriate ways to take action.
Require school online safety training and education on the amount of trafficking that occurs online, especially through social media.
Expand efforts to increase awareness of the National Trafficking Hotline and other resources for victims to report and get assistance in escaping trafficking.

I was also on his site yesterday looking for his policies (and plans) and, sure, thanks dude for digging all these out, but the fact that Youngkin and his team are too dumb to share these in any readily accessible way on his campaign website just makes him look even more idiotic - or like he's trying to hide something. I choose option C) A and B.

Not a McAuliffe fan either, but between these two winners, he's sure as heck getting my vote over Youngkin.

I mean, the fact is he doesn't have to share his policy positions. He has a floor of 40% of the vote just by having an (R) next to his name on the ballot, and the right-wing propaganda machine is carrying water for him on the contrived culture war wedge issues. The less he says on the issues that actually affect people the better, because it allows independents and undecideds to project their beliefs on to him.
Anonymous
As soon as Youngkin aligned himself with Trump and the Jan 6 attackers he lost my vote. I used to consider myself an independent and I voted for both Dems and GOP, but I will not support anyone in a personality cult.
Anonymous
I consider Trumpkin less of a liar than McAuliffe.

McAuliffe just posted about his commitment to public education, which he called the "engine" of growth in the state. He didn't bother to mention that he sent his own kids to expensive private schools, except for the kid he sent to NoVa's most economically segregated high school (Langley).
