Terry is a pro business moderate Democrat. The current Democratic governor signed a law saying schools need to be open 5 days per week. So I'm confused about all these so called Democrats switching to the GOP?

Go read the thread about a woman being criticized for calling a ladybug a ladybug instead of a theybug. People have gone loony and some of us want to send a message.

Good lord, you’re going to base your vote for Governor on an anonymous thread about what some dumb woman allegedly said?

Of course not. I’m going to base my vote on 100000 small loony experiences (and the large loony experience of school closure). I have simply had enough of the extreme wackiness.

Again, the current Democratic governor signed a law saying schools need to be open 5 days per week. So I'm confused about all these so called Democrats switching to the GOP?

Democratic lawmakers and leaders have demonstrated a propensity this past year to wield control over their populace by issuing executive orders that are neither science based nor beneficial to children. It's all about control and power.
I can't blame anyone for voting against a power hungry politician like Terry McAuliffe.

Ah yes, because not allowing school districts to decide what Covid measures to implement (looking at you FL and TX) is very much science based and not big government at all. Keep drinking the Kool Aid.

Interesting that the UK doesn't feel the need to mask students. Why might that be???? (Hint: It is not based on science to require masks on children).

Anti maskers are the worst. Go away.

While you’re gone, read about all of the other measures in place for UK schools.

Okaybye.

The UK is not exactly known for its robust and successful approach to containing the novel coronavirus, so if you think this is some kind of gotcha, you may wish to reconsider.

Yep. Republicans are liars: the first rule of modern American politics.

Lying is the only way they can possibly get enough votes for their radical, mostly-pro-billionaire agenda. They have to lie.

“On Monday, far-right radio host Sebastian Gorka received a call from a listener who was upset that Gorka kept bashing Virginia GOP gubernatorial candidate Glenn Youngkin.

“We need to try to win in Virginia, yet you’re trying to take this guy on and cut his legs out from underneath him,” said the man, who identified himself as “Josh.”

Josh had his talking points about Youngkin down.

Gorka, previously an official in President Donald Trump’s administration, was suspicious. He accused Josh of working for the campaign.

“I don’t,” Josh replied.

Later, however, Gorka came back and claimed that the number Josh used was actually associated with someone named Devin O’Malley, a spokesperson for Youngkin’s campaign.

“So let’s just be clear here: Glenn Youngkin is hiring people to lie on national radio,” Gorka said.”

I'm a Dem, and I watched the debate, and you are mischaracterizing Youngkin's position on vaccines.

He has encouraged Virginians to get vaccinated, but believes that they should have the freedom to make their own choice. This is a far cry from being "anti-science" or "death-seeking".

You may disagree with him, but there is no need to mischaracterize his position on this issue.

Does Glenn Youngkin believe private employers should also get to make their own choices about employing unvaccinated people? Or is choice only for the unvaccinated?

And let me know when he starts applying the same principles of “choice” to women’s reproductive rights.

If you have a libertarian perspective you have to admit that overall the Democrats want to control people (and what they think) far more than Republicans. Terry has always been a slick, corrupt, wheeler-dealer but I think more people are starting to see through him. It’s no coincidence he ended up marrying Dorothy Swann, the daughter of a guy who ran a Florida S&L into the ground in the early 90s, costing taxpayers over $500M to bail out depositors.
