| Washington Univ. library is beautiful from the pictures I have seen, with its woodwork inside. Was it fun to study in that library ? |
Washu belongs in the 3c list |
This is the most bogus, least accurate list on here. |
|
1. Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Princeton, MIT
1b. Columbia, Caltech 2. UChicago, UPenn, Duke, Northwestern, Johns Hopkins 2b. Brown, Williams, Amherst, Cornell, Dartmouth 3?. Vanderbilt, Swarthmore, Rice, Pomona 3b. Notre Dame, WashU, Georgetown, Bowdoin, UCLA, UCB, CMU 4. Emory, UVA, UMich, Tufts, Wellesley, USC, UNC, CMC |
| Michigan should definitely be in 3b. |
JHU to 2b |
| The stupid continues. |
|
But as far as 'stupid goes', it is one of the more pleasurable ones !
Where were you considering ? |
Emory isn't 4, not with its test score avg, Goizueta, and premed. |
Williams, Amherst and Swarthmore are all the same and should be tier 2 or 2b at least. Why are you selling them short and behind Northwestern, JH, Penn CAS, Duke ? No way. |
|
Continuing the list until the 5 tier...
1. Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, MIT, Yale 1b. Columbia, Caltech, Upenn, U Chicago 2. Duke, Northwestern, Johns Hopkins, Dartmouth 2b. Brown, Williams, Amherst 3. Vanderbilt, Cornell, Swarthmore, Rice, Pomona, 3b. Emory, Notre Dame, WashU, Georgetown, Bowdoin, UCLA, UCB, CMU 4. UVA, Umich, Tufts, Wellesley, USC, UNC, CMC, Gatech 4b. Boston College, Wake Forest, NYU, Middlebury, Wash & Lee, Barnard 5. Caleton, Hamilton, Vassar, Davidson, UCSB, U Rochester, Tulane, Case Western, UT Austin 5b. Boston University, UIUC, Colby, Haverford, Smith, Northeastern Still thinking of combining 3 and 3b, but no one answered my question from earlier. |
I could be wrong but I wouldn't but Williams and Amhearst on the same level as Duke. In fact, I feel as though I was being generous and I initially had Williams and Amhearst at 3 and Swarthmore at 3b. I think 20 years ago Williams was on Duke's level but not anymore. I don't think students would regularly pick Williams over Duke. |
|
What has happened in the past 20 years which puts Duke ahead of Williams and Amherst ?
Those are the two best LAC's. Also, don't students look at the overall history of a college or university and at a place's facilities, etc., and not pigeonhole a place within a present five year time period ? |
LACs having been going out of favor for years now. Just look at the yield numbers for AWS. Many kids nowadays frequently choose Vanderbilt, WashU, etc. over AWS |
Vast majority of students would pick Duke over Williams today |
