this is getting more and more crazy. little of this makes sense. $25M is a gazillion amount of money, any person who tries an extorsion for that money can expect that the victim may go to the police. plus I dont understand how the FL attorney could promise that the investigation would go away. the investigation is done by the DOJ and he apparently worked there in the 90s. and now pay for the hostage. i think the hostage is long dead and if the US could have freed it by paying, i think Trump would have done it for sure (not direct payment obviously, but having others pay - Like Qatar? - and then he would have remembered the favor).

my take is that Gaetz has dirt on him and he knows, all this mess is noise? but something must be going on or he would have been crazy to name the FL attorney publicly at the risk to get sued. anyway, very curious to see where this is going. in the meantime is fun to see conservatives keep the distance (see Carlson, who for sure will not invite Gaezt on his show for a very long time)

+1 quite the opposite. he got on tv and said he was being extorted and how unfair it is because all he did is be "generous" with some travel companions.

Keep his distance? Can you imagine a liberal network inviting on a Democratic Congressman if the tables were turned? CNN hasn't had Andrew Cuomo on their air since the shit hit the fan, and he was a regular guest in happier times. It took them months to stop pretending nothing was happening until they could no longer ignore it.
