+1 That is because BCC was the first high school in the county. I’m guessing it was built in the 20s/30s. It’s been expanded at least three times since then, but they kept the historical part intact. It is a beautifully designed structure, with a football / playing field / track adjacent.

Not true. What is now Richard Montgomery High School opened as Rockville High School in 1892.

The reason the private school kids got in ED is because their parents committed to paying full price. Actually, BCC (as well as the other schools listed in this thread) has excellent college matriculation - see the list in Bethesda Magazine. It is certainly much better than the area Catholic H.S.s

Actually no, I think it’s because colleges are well aware that MCPS grades are inflated. But thanks for reminding me why I’m not on this board much. Was trying to be helpful.

private schools can be picky about who they accept as students. That alone would skew results of scores and what not. Publics don't have that option.

LMAOOO! Bethesda-Chevy Chase is mostly rich white kids! It’s probably one of the wealthiest public schools in not only the state, but the country as well. It does have a higher FARMS rate than other Bethesda and Potomac schools, but not by that much, and the non-FARMS part of the student body is probably the wealthiest out of all of the schools in the area.

I dunno last time I checked the private school admission results thread there was a lot of gnashing of teeth and complaining about how private school kids were doing worse in admissions than public school kids. FTR I don’t think any parent really has a good handle on that question, if it even makes sense to ask it.
