Did SJC win a game against Calvert Hall in the regular season? I may have missed that OR rather maybe that never happened. There is a BIG difference between a summer/fall tournament and the regular season. I would like to see SJC go to Baltimore and defeat McDonogh, Loyola, Boys Latin, Gilman or Calvert Hall. Not only has SJC not defeated any of these teams and they have on played 1 game vs a Baltimore school (Loyola) and lost. Like another poster stated win a championship and beat a team of National ranking. (Go to Baltimore)

Calvert Hall.

In the last five years between the IAC and WCAC, there is probably one team between the two conferences that would place in the top three in the MIAA.
This year’s Bullis team is excellent and could win the MIAA.
I expect CH, Spaulding and McDonogh to be at the top of the MIAA.

The Landon 2017 team which undefeated probably would have won the MIAA that Spring, that team was loaded and filled with depth. Not to mention they had a FOGO who hardly ever lost at the X. They dominated most teams they played that season, including a very good Bullis team in the ship.

I think Bullis will be the frontrunner in the DC area by a good margin, however I strongly believe the Bullis 2019 team is better than the Bullis 2021 team. While Bullis is loaded across the field, unlike the 2019 team (the 2021 kids were sophomores that year) Bullis really doesn't have a ton of depth on their roster. Bullis 2024 and 2023 classes are much weaker in terms of talent relative to recent Bullis classes that graduated. People forget how much depth you need to play in the MIAA, most games are a DOG FIGHT. Calvert Hall has a 50 man roster relative to most squads who carry 35 man roster.

and lastly... Spaulding? Have they ever even won a game in the MIAA playoffs? I get that they have very strong 2022 class (Hawks players) but really? Win a game first in the playoffs.

Too many parents read way too much into summer and fall games.

For starters... its a running clock.... and they still play FEDERATION rules.. running clock penalties when the ball goes out of bounds.... and sometimes even fast break penalties.

Some programs treat NHSLS games as if its the super bowl.

We all know how this works. Prep beat Calvert hall in a fall league game that didn’t use NCAA rules. Therefore, they would’ve easily won the MIAA the last three years.

Calvert Hall is terrific, but the MIAA as a whole is not what it used to be. In 2019, St. Mary’s was the runner up. St. Mary’s lost to St. Stephen’s by at least 5 goals that year, and at one point in the game was down by 10 goals. Bullis, Prep, St. Stephen’s, and Landon all would have had a good shot at making the MIAA final. Bullis would have given Calvert Hall a very tough game, and might have won.

Bullis played Taft in final on Eastern Shore. Don’t consider either one of them Tier 2 or Tier 3...not sure how anyone would.

They do play in the spring preseason, but they're in different leagues so can't play against each other in the regular season. You are assuming Bullis will beat Prep this spring, but you really have no clue. Prep went undefeated in the NHSLS, Bullis did not. If nothing else it will be an interesting spring season - if there is one.

Bullis didnt play in the NHSLS in Howard county.

They played in the Mad Lax "East Coast showcase" which was hosted on the Eastern shore. This even for the for past 5+ years has always been hosted at Landon but due to COVID it was moved to Salisbury MD.
