It is nice to see another competitive team, but Prep, Gonzaga, Bullis, and Landon have a long history of winning..not a couple of good seasons like SJ.[/quote
After losing to Landon for a long time, Prep went from little brother to a decade in the sun, but they have since dropped off. I think they have finished the season ranked #1 in the country twice. I suspect the Mater Dei pipeline to Prep getting a few new valves to Gonzaga and St. John's has hurt Prep.
Gonzaga has been good for the last decade, they were competitive starting in the early 2000's and now they are the Gorilla in the room. While area bragging rights used to go through 6101 Wilson Lane and Somewhere on Rockville Pike, they now definitely go through Eye St. I think they have finished ranked #1 in the country once.
Bullis has really Trumped the DC Lacrosse Universe with alternative facts. They have been much better in the last five to seven years, but I think they have two, count 'em, Two IAC Championships. Maybe they have Three, Count 'em, Three IAC Championships. What has their record been against 'Zaga? in the last ten years. I wouldn't say The Bulldogs have a long History of Winning; I might call it a recent streak of winning. Bullis has never finished ranked #1 in the country. They did win the Geico Tournament a couple of years ago, but they also lost between four and six games that season, and one of those losses was to Gonzaga and maybe to McD and another Balto school. Tough to claim a Natty Title when you aren't even the best team in your area or state.
StJCH has also been very competitive. Again, how many WCAC Championships? How many National Championships?
