I don't appreciate how they are clearly trying to blame the kids for what was inevitable.

They are not blaming them, just reporting the truth about the origination of the outbreaks. They have been extremely transparent from the start.

Personally, I put the blame on the Chinese Govt for completely f’ing up the whole world.

Except the rest of the developed world is handling the pandemic better than the good ol' USA. Can't blame the Chinese for that.

Also the East Asia and South East Asia, which are much closer to China than USA, are all doing well.

Anonymous wrote:Pre Covid, can someone explain the usual % of soph, jun. and seniors who lived on campus? Sorry, I'm confused.

Last numbers I saw, as of 2018 when a new policy was put into force, the on-campus housing numbers were:

Freshman - 100%
Sophomore - 100%
Junior - 100% (not counting those abroad for overseas study, of course)
Seniors - 30-40%

Thank you. Did the senior on-campus % used to be much higher or has it been sub 50% for quite some time?

Nah...we got a very generous refund last spring. They will refund. They can afford it thankfully.

While funny, I seriously doubt that's an issue for Notre Dame, which is both filthy rich and has a very wealthy student body. That's a tactic the broke diploma mills would pull – in fact, it's something I've seen at many colleges long before Corona was a thing.

Are you for real?
Are the Chinese behind the CDC's decision to develop its own--faulty--test, despite the fact that the WHO already had a good one?
Did the Chinese advise Trump to have states compete against each other for testing supplies?
Did the Chinese recommend to Trump to forego any coordinated national response to data collection?
Did the Chinese tell DT to not do any contact tracing until the pandemic was well under way?
Did the Chinese tell DT to not provide any employment assurance so that people could stay home?
Did the Chinese tell DT to make tests expensive so that people couldn't afford to take them?
Did the Chinese tell DT to make sure that people waited up to 10 days for test results?
Did the Chinese tell DT to wait until the very last minute to advise people to wear masks?
Did the Chinese tell DT that if he didn't test, then the numbers would be low?
Did the Chinese tell the US governors to open up bars and restaurants, even when numbers were rising?
Did the Chinese tell airlines to resume full flights even though the pandemic wasn't under control?
Did the Chinese tell Notre Dame and UNC to open up and have students come to campus?

Lol! Doing much better. No one should be doing much better. No country can operate freely because of them. We are in this crisis because of them.

Believe me, I’m angry at the US response as well, the WHO and the unmasked morons too. There’s a lot of blame to go around, but there would need to be blame if the Chinese govt had told the truth.

If there are sinister/financial motives it would be far more likely to buy time for football. Let the ACC take the fall for cancelling the season rather than having to look horrible for sending everyone home except the football players.

Authoritarian governments are typically not forthcoming or trustworthy when it comes to bad news.

And I am quite sure that the Administration was forewarned about that.

That's a copout. We've had 8 months to get a handle on this, but our so-called leader and way to many reality-denying Americans refused. China dealt with it. This is what was going on in Wuhan today:
