If only I was on dcum circa 2008 and I could’ve seen dcum’s reaction to Jamie Lynn Spears’s pregnancy announcement at 16 years old. That would’ve been a long thread!

And rightly so. Wh would be thrilled about a teen pregnancy other than the weirdo early in this thread trying to convince people it should be a thing.

What's weird is people tearing down a 22 year old married women for having a baby because she's not partying and traveling the world. Meanwhile acting like it's totatlly normal for a 40 year old man to be a party animal and sleep around.

This. What is going on when a grown woman with a husband and a career is shamed for having a baby?

20/21 year olds do not have degrees
I do know of college students with a baby though. Some say college is a good time to have one. You will not need to disrupt a career for a baby and we are actually designed to biologically have kids at that age

They most certainly do.

Yeah I had a BA and MA and a job by 21

Wow, I had a PhD when I was still a fetus. My DF boasts about being a lawyer at 13, how embarrassing.

Probably losing her father at such a young age has affected her outlook and she wants to do a lot of living now. Good for her!

I imagine pp did some sort of combined program and maybe went to college a year earlier. I could have had all those at age 22, had I picked the combined program, not a brag, just the program/school I went to, and starting school before people bor after July 31 were held back a year.

Correct
You are supposed to live
16 at college?
Some schools have started insisting that the younger kids take a gap year before joining.
We had an Australian exchange student who had her high school diploma. Her reason for being an exchange student was to delay going to college

I had a boyfriend in college whose mother gave birth to him at age 18, exactly 9months and 2 days after her wedding. I met her several times and it was really weird that his mother looked young enough to be our peer.

Then again, He thought it was really weird that my mom was 30 years older than me. Ancient!

I remember when Jamie Lynn happened - I was a teen myself. Even then I knew it was a huge mistake. She had her own TV show at 16 and was trying for a pop career. She moved to Mississippi with the baby's father (Casey Aldridge) insisting they would raise it together and she would be fine. Within a year the baby daddy had left her alone to raise the kid.

The most Jamie Lynn is known for now is her daughter nearly dying in a backyard 4x4 accident and Jamie herself fighting to be named as a executor of her 38-year-old sister's conservatory. Because of course she'll get a steady paycheck from that. Britney's father gets six-figures a year to keep her locked up.

Oh, and Casey? He's now a drug addict and thief.

The 30-year-old was arrested on December 30, 2019, after being linked to the burglaries of several camps near Gloster, Mississippi, according to a report from the Amite County Sheriff’s Department.

Aldridge was previously arrested for drug possession in February 2019 after cops found him “passed out” behind the wheel of a vehicle that was “still in drive,” according to an arrest report obtained by Us at the time.

2 friends who graduated from Harvard at age 20. They had graduated HS at 17 (November birthdays; entered K at age 4) and tested out of all the freshman year classes. One never had kids but went to law school at 25, and got married on her 50th birthday. The other had her masters and 2 kids by 28. Divergent paths.
