You are actually pretty dumb if you believe the PP has a kid on a GA team. This is a parent who believes their DD’s team can compete with and beat a GA/ECNL team. And if we are talking 06 and younger he is probably right.

And there certainly some ECNL/GA teams older than 05 who are quite average.

Frankly, it isn’t particularly hard to make many of these teams which is laughable considering the posturing and flaunting the parents do here. So much arrogance for such a diluted area.

And you daughter plays on one of the average teams and you pay thousands for it because you think she's the exception. Who's dumb now, Champ?

Because ID camps can control the number of participants

Which means an accurate gauge of the player differences cannot be established. How about the second, more important question?

I'm a parent that's been around for a long time. I can tell, you haven't. You're easy to spot. Loudest one at the table. A previous poster was right....your not a parent of an ECNL parent.

And, you have no concept of what average is. An average player in the ECNL would dominate a lower league. A exceptional player in a lower league would be average in the ECNL. Again, average is relative.

Three/four years ago roughly 40 kids per age group in NoVA could play in ECNL. Now ECNL has 80 kids per age group. Keep in mind that 05 and older only McLean has teams built when there were only two ECNL clubs. That means up to 60 kids currently in ECNL per age group did not make either FCV or McLean and you are going to tell me they are NOW exceptional?

Maybe not exceptional, just better than your kid.

What makes you believe that, your patch?

I'm a DP than many of the previous, but based on my experience watching, it's true. On average, the exDA and ECNL kids are much better at soccer than the others. Are there a few on the outside who are good enough to play ECNL/GA? Yes. If you are on the top half of any of the ECNL/GA clubs though, and in some cases whole teams depending on the club and team, there's not really any comparison with the kids on the outside, save for the few who are exceptional and can't afford it (though many of those are covered with financial aid by the ECNL/GA clubs.

80 DDs per age group in ECNL in NOVA? With rosters around 25 on average in the competition age groups, Thats 4 teams and 100 players easily. Almost 40 of your DDs wont even suit up on game day.
