Collin Gosselin: way harsh?

I don’t understand why after the divorce she just didn’t shut the tv thing down and go back to nursing. She probably bought the house in cash and was able to set aside money for each kid to go to college. That’s a huge leg up than most parents have (especially parents of 8). No idea why she just didn’t end the ride gracefully and hit the floor unit. She could make 80k or so a year with very little overhead and maybe draw a small stipen from your cash reserves leftover from tlc. Why keep trying to show the world your circus when clearly your monkeys are struggling.

Collin seems to say a lot of things about his parents that may or may not be true. I'm not sure I believe these claims. Do any of the other siblings say anything similar?

Probably hard to pay the mortgage/property taxes on the 6000 square foot mansion and take all the fancy trips/get all the Botox and the hair treatments/eat at fancy NYC restaurants/pay for private school x 8/etc. on a nurse’s salary. I’m sure they would’ve survived — plenty of big families make it on modest means — but Kate was accustomed to a certain lifestyle that she could never ever maintain herself and didn’t want to give it all up. That’s my take.

Hannah said he was untruthful about the encounter with Jon. But bless the judge this is an awful situation. Who would retain custody of both parents are charged with assault/ abuse? I fear he would end up in another group home setting/hospital.

You would hope a good psychologist or therapist could get to the bottom of it to determine if the claims are true and if he's being truthful. Given all the other kids in the house it would seem odd if just one is singled out for such harsh and disparate treatment and they can likely confirm or deny if what he's saying is true.

I remember being appalled by Kate threatening to throw Collin's stuffed bear in the trash when he was 3? years old. The poor child is sobbing and she's yelling at him that his bear is going in the trash!

Actually it’s not uncommon for one child to be the focus of abuse in a household.

He had written that one psychologist was harming him as well. Jon released those letters when he first went for custody. I wonder if other doctors would be cautious to have it publicized if they took him on as a patient.
