Wondering which is better at avoiding groupthink. We all live in a bubble but will one be better than the others in terms of exposing her to ideas that are actually different from those in the bubble? And is one worse?

I have a similar conundrum and I am leaning towards GDS because of that reason.

GDS is the most group think of that list.

Give it a rest, will you.

What's ironic is that group think has developed around the premise that GDS is group think.

Thanks! DD is leaning towards Potomac, but we will remain on the unlikely-to-ever-happen Sidwell W/L for a few weeks too. Glad to hear your daughter loves Holton. We all really enjoyed the interview and visits there -- it's a great place!

Boy 9th grade — SJC (only school he applied to)

He loved STA campus and he already has few friends that attend STA so he felt it will be easier transition to a new school.
It was his first choice since the start of this whole process.

Congrats to those who have made a decision! If you posted here can you say whether your child got into multiple schools and whether you will you be releasing a spot in the next few days?

Daughter accepted to SJC and will be declining another school.

We immediately released all the spots.
Good luck to every family.

We did the same. It was such an easy decision - SINCE WE THOUGHT AND TALKED ABOUT IT BEFORE THE RESULTS CAME OUT.

But DC has friends who are doing a second shadow to some schools. Slow turtles.

You say this so smugly, but I know from experience that shadow days can change a kid's decision.

Yes, but they did it already. A second one is just ridiculous.
