Oh stop it. You're just trying to get a rise out of people. You'd kill to send your kid to UVA. That's why you're on this thread.

Lol.....incorrect. I’m just amused by your infantile bickering. Oh, and my DC attend colleges that are much higher ranked than UVA and it would have been unimaginable for them to have chosen to go to a public college where the vast majority of students come from in-state.....especially a state like Virginia.

[b]Nonsense is free on an anonymous forum I suppose
[/[b]. The eh” Peter apparently doesn’t know she was called out about a year sgo in kne if those @Whstvpisters do you find most annoying and wish would shut up”. I imagine thread could be found by googling Eh and dcurbanmoms

Sort of like Michigan, UCLA, Berkeley, Wisconsin. Everyone knows these schools even though UMD probably fits in somewhere in between. Most people don’t pay attention to exact rankings - just general reputation. UMD is a good school although I have to admit that I find the campus and town pretty depressing. I think professors for UMD live all over the region rather than close to the school. I know 2 UMD professors and they both live in DC

UVA is barely known nationally and is not known at all internationally.
UMD is better known internationally.

Good one, troll.

I wouldn't argue either school is going to be well known internationally.

These threads make school boosters look silly and childish

It depends by whom. Scientists and academics know lots of schools. More of them know UMD because of its research productivity. Rich Asians know lots of schools because they send very many here to attend. Most of them know both. Otherwise, most people either know no American schools, or they only know Harvard.

Right on. And in state tuition

+1 I've got three in-state. I wake up every morning thanking the Lord for the wonderful VA university system

But for many people, being accessible to a city would be a plus and, depending on where you live, it could still feel far enough removed from home. And, of course, for MD residents the in-state tuition cuts the other way.

You, obviously, are dumb. What do you think PP meant by "These threads"?
