This isn’t a hard left country. It’s a centrist country that wobbles between center left and center right. It never goes left, let alone hard left.

If the Dem nominee is a hard lefty, they will lose. Period.

Let’s just be pragmatic about this. Biden is the only one who can win
.

Totally agree! If the Democrat nominee is not a centrist, then Democrats will loose. The majority of Americans will never vote for an extremist on the left. It is not going to happen.

A Bill Clinton would win for sure.

A Joe Biden...I'm not sure. He's pretty random, and getting worse.

Dems just need to find another Bill Clinton - minus the ugly baggage.

Or an Obama. I just don't see anyone out there now that can hold a candle to either of them in terms of appeal or political ability.

Harris is the new Obama and, nope, Obama himself made sure with that second term that no Obama-like candidate (inexperienced first-time Senator playing identity politics) wins in a loooong time.

A Bill Clinton would win.

The fact that solid and respected Governor Hickenlooper dropped out after failing to get any traction tells me, though, that the party has been taken over by the Dem Socialists and the extremists and will take a while for a Bill Clinton-like candidate (pragmatic governor with actual results) to emerge.

But he got really clobbered the last time he ran for President. Remember that? I'm just saying he ain't no Bill Clinton or Barack Obama.

I think people worrying about Biden being an embarrassment are not thinking about how embarrassing Trump was - yet he still won and continues to be embarrassing. It doesn't seem like voters outside of hardcore politics junkies care about that stuff.

This thread is about some fever dreaming MAGA heads spewing nonsense in an attempt to get Democrats worked up. You know for a change.

harris for sure. She’s a fighter and has a strong law enforcement background.

You shouldn't hive mind this--you should find the candidate that has the positions you like, and support that person. If you focus on electability, you perpetuate the bias you fear. By which I mean, I hear women saying they would love a woman candidate, but are afraid of repeating HRC's defeat. But look, if you vote against women BECAUSE they are women, you aren't being pragmatic, you are being sexist. Same thing with race or anything else.

As for the candidates themselves, I think Harris is a pretty good moderate option (she takes the best parts of a public option and medicare for all, IMO). I like Booker. Inslee says good things about climate change. I am not sure I'd call Warren a moderate, but she is someone who understands the virtues (and pitfalls) of a capitalist market. Unless you live in Iowa, you don't actually have to make a decision just yet. Just please, keep an open mind, don't listen to the trolls, and don't be a troll yourself.

Booker is an utter moron.
Biden is senile at best.
Bernie is a loon.

Bennet is the best moderate but nobody is paying attention to him.

The only solid, moderate Dems are polling at least than 1%.

Speaks volumes at what the party has become.

OP agree and that's my fear. It's obvious Biden has lost a step. We need to coalesce around an alternative to make sure a progressive doesn't end up with the nom = trump certain victory

Your fear is insane. Do you know how many people actually like progressive policies? Do you know that not everyone fears progress? That perhaps after four years of same old same old GOP politics, perhaps the change they want is something non-criminal and substantive? If you really care about defetaingbthe criminal GOP, get involved. Stacey Abrams’s new Fair Fight or any of the other groups fighting vote suppression. Registering voters. Working for whoever the eventual nominee is.

lol the progressive viewpoint isn't even a majority in our party and if you include independents it's a total landslide. Get off twitter and this site. A majority of Ds aren't progressive

Seriously, the PPP needs to get out of her twitter/FB/DCUM echo-chamber. Bernie or Warren will guarantee us 4 more years of Trump. Plus Warren lied about being Native American to advance her career.

I love the Trump supporters lecturing others to get out of their echo chambers. Hello hello hello hello hello hello

Ha ha +1!

The only way trump “wins” again is how he did it the first time - treason.

Hi Boris

Yes, the GOP is treasoning with russia.
