This poor girl killed herself and look at the comments.

“Why is this news”

“Messed up family”

“Mean, mean mean”

Sheesh people what is wrong with some of you? This is being covered because she’s a Kennedy, and they’re famous. She’s not responsible for the actions of her family members and she died. What is the point of writing mean comments?

It's tragic and sad, but it's NOT news.

Yup. Death at such a young age is particularly tragic , but turning this into some kind of national mourning be is ridiculous

I don’t see any “national mourning”. It was covered on the news because she is a Kennedy. End of story. There are some f’ed up people on this site.

The only lesson here is that opioid addiction needs to be addressed head-on in this country.

SOAR-sha

It is a common Irish name. It's lovely.

It never will. People care more about legalizing drugs so they can have fun with it than helping the addicts.

Why do nasty, hateful church ladies love to keep reminding us of the unforgivable sins of the Kennedy's? I've heard it before, such hate and sanctimonious judgment on the dead Kennedys from the wrinkled lips of pearl clutching church ladies. Is it political or racist?

I wonder who the horrid person was who sexually abused her. She mentioned it was someone she was very close to and trusted. That causes tremendous damage and she herself implied it was one of the causes of her depression.

Your post says more about you than any pearl clutchers. Why is it hateful or sanctimonious to point out what Ted Kennedy did? I haven't set foot inside a church in more than a decade but even I know Ted Kennedy did something wrong and got off scot free because of who he was.

As for racist? Rich white boy evaded the law because he was a rich white boy and you're crying racism?

1. No, it doesn't. You are a relatively simple, unsophisticated person, huh?

2. Why would you say something horrible about a dead child's name on a thread discussing her?

Knowing the pronunciation of obscure or 'common' Irish names makes on sophisticated? At least you have a sense of humor, i'd give you that.

No, it only rhymes with inertia if you have a Dublin accent, like actress Saoirse Ronan. My Northern Irish colleague pronounces it (his daughter's name) like SOAR-sha. Other Irish people I know pronounce it more like SOAR-sha, too. I can't render their accents phonetically in exactly the right way, but that's the closest I can get. Imagine a little twist of an "ee" sound in the first syllable, but it sounds more like SOAR.

Oh please. I give you JFK and RFK but, the others not so much. If they weten't so well known nobody would know or care.

August 12, 1944 - Joseph Kennedy Jr, the elder brother of JFK, is killed when his bomber aircraft explodes over Suffolk during the Second World War.

May 13 1948 - Kathleen Cavendish, JFK's sister and the wife of Marquess of Hartington, dies in a plane crash in France.

November 22, 1963 - President John F Kennedy is assassinated as he rides in an open convertible through Dallas, Texas. His killer, Lee Harvey Oswald, is gunned down at a police station two days later, sparking widespread conspiracies about the President's death.

June 6, 1968 - Robert Kennedy, JFK's younger brother and his attorney general, is assassinated after winning the California Democratic primary. The gunman, Sirhan Sirhan, remains in a prison in California.

April 25, 1984 - David Kennedy, the fourth of RFK's eleven children, dies in a Florida hotel room after overdosing on cocaine, painkillers and anti-psychotic medicine.

December 31, 1997 - Michael Kennedy, the sixth of RFK's children, is killed in a skiing accident in Colorado. The 39-year-old was playing American football when he crashed into a tree.

July 16, 1999 - John F Kennedy Junior, the JFK's son, dies while flying his light aircraft to the holiday island of Martha's Vineyard. He reportedly became disoriented during the night flight and crashed into the ocean.

May 16, 2012 - Mary Kennedy, the estranged wife of Robert Kennedy Jr, is founded after reportedly hanging herself at her New York home.

I simply don't see tragedy or a curse.

Playing football on skis?

Night flying when you don't have an IFR?

People die in war. More than just the Kennedy's suffered. It was tragic for America. Was it special in some way for the Kennedy's? Did everyone who died the war have a curse?

The assassinations are tragic and a failure of government. Not a curse. No one considered Lincoln cursed. Political figures are popular targets.

It isn't obscure! I am from Boston. I knew multiple girls with this name, all American. Maybe this is a New England UMC trend, but even so, there are contemporary actresses and writers with this name.

But the more pressing part of my observation is, again, WHY WOULD YOU SAY SOMETHING HORRIBLE ABOUT A DEAD CHILD'S NAME ON A THREAD DISCUSSING HER?

I repeat, why?
