Bingo

I would put Kenyon here instead of Oberlin--Oberlin has more of an artsy vibe, where these have an earnest vibe.

Just out of curiosity, what is an”earnest vibe”?

Hmm...I guess, students overall seem very into their studies, want to 'help the world' in some way, and are oriented to getting along with/pleasing others. Conscientious and smart. Total stereotype and I may be wrong about it, but when I cluster schools this is the kind of thing I go on. Oberlin strikes me as having more in common with Macalester and Skidmore.

Oberlin’s motto Is, “Think one person can change the world? So do we.” They are about social changes.

I know this is a joke since the 3 share little in common except the last 4 letters of their names, but even funnier is that I went to one of these colleges and you would not believe how often people in the DMV area confuse it with one of the others in the group.

When they hear that I went to Wellesley, people will sometimes go on and on about how much they love Hamilton, leaving me to explain that Lin Manuel Miranda went to Wesleyan. (Yes, he's super-talented, but he couldn't have gotten into Wellesley -- it's a women's college).

Wellesley, Wesleyan, Hamilton?

UPenn is light years above UVA? Not in satisfaction of student body, unfortunately.

Gettysburg
Franklin & Marshall
Dickinson
Lafayette

All in PA, literally nothing that sets one apart from any of the others. About as similar as four schools can be.

Add Bucknell to that list. A little bigger than the other but otherwise similar.

Grinnell, Reed, St Olaf., Mac, Carelton, Oberlin

Sorry but I think that Reed has much more of a drug/alternative vibe than St. Olaf's .
