I like John Delaney. He has already announced he is running in '20 and his more moderate bi-partisan cooperation message should be appealing to the large numbers of non-crazy Rs and non-uber-liberal Ds. He's not the most inspiring public speaker but there is time for him to work on that and his message and background (successful business person) are broadly appealing and seem good for our country.

I am a D. I will evaluate each democrats running in primary carefully for their policy and records and chose the best one. I would also vote for Hillary enthusiastically again if she gets past primary. There is nothing wrong with her (and in fact she is amply fit) unless you have bought into all the nonsense that is pushed by right-wing media amplified by Russian/other enemy trolls.

But I do not think she is inclined to run again.

^^^ Case in point. This is a liberal.

It's a great idea. Don't try to squelch it.

They're saying they would vote for her if she got past the primary. I would too. That's not the same thing as saying she should run or would make it that far. I would vote for almost anyone over trump

I am the PP whose post was bolded above.

I do not see any sign of Hillary running for presidency again. However, if she does and she is picked by Democrats as the candidate I would be very happy to vote for her. She is an extremely qualified candidate. She might be hated by many , but a lot of the hate is mongered by right wing propaganda and general conditioning of people to distrust powerful women. She is not perfect, yet she is a lot better than a whole lot of politicians we have seen in American politics. The only aspects where I am concerned is her age. That's the reason I do not think she would run.

Do any folks here know Heitkamp or Duckworth? To me, the both seem good.

I also like Kander; Amy McGrath, if she gets into the House; and Jared Polis.

It would not surprise me if Hillary ran again ....... and if that happens, you can pretty much be assured of Trump being in office until 2024.

What is it about some liberals who just can't get it into their thick heads that what we need is not just someone who has the background to be president but he/she has to be ELECTABLE.

Hillary’s done, and a guy from Vermont or Deleware isn’t going to do the trick. Some governor from the Midwest, if there is such a Democrat.

I think the issue is communication skills. Clinton's are fine, but not good enough for a presidential candidate.

Last I heard, she was still breathing. There's your sign.

She is undoubtedly positioning herself for another run in 2020.

Jared looks great. Would need to win the Colorado governor’s race first, though.

I do not think DNC did any poor job. There are at least 10 or more qualified person I can think of. It is just that some people cannot see past Biden/Sanders. I believe Duckworth, Gillibrand, Ted Lieu, Warren, Booker, Kamala Harris, O'Malley, Cuomo, Blasio, Chris Murphey, Schiff, Tim Kaine, Eric Salwell Michelle Obama or Klobuchar would be a fine President.

With a couple of exceptions, this is a pretty sorry bunch of potential candidates - most are not electable.

The only ones I like and would be willing to vote for are shown in bold. I'd also vote for Mark Warner. I am not sure any of them- with the possible exception of Biden - could defeat Trump assuming the economy is doing well.

Michele Obama? What are her qualifications, being a first lady she got to watch her husband try to run the country? Why are you leaving Oprah out? She has more popular support than all of those weak candidates combined.

I think Michelle Obama is electable. Two factors must go into anyone we nominate: qualification and electability - and the latter is more important than the former.

Please lay out the first one, what are Michelle Obama's qualifications?

Fair point! But what I'd say is that most candidates who run for president are people who grow into the job - some do it sooner than others and some never succeed in doing so. Trump was not by conventional definition ready for the presidency. Neither was Obama - though I voted for him. Reagan, Clinton, Carter and GWB had executive experience as governors of states - the former two were able to grow into the job. The latter two were never really able to do so.

The presidency is a unique institution for which there is no real training ground ......... Michelle Obama is an intelligent woman who I believe can grow into the job and she is, IMO, electable.

Please run Michelle Obama for the next 4 election cycles. Then she can go away like Hillary.

Are you a republican or a democrat? I think you are an R. What are you all going to do when the Clintons are dead? Where will all this energy go?

Not the PP you asked but I hold the same view; she is positioning herself to seek the nomination. And I am not a Republican.

+ 1 million -- We cannot run another septuagenarian.

Cory Booker, Gillibrand, Harris -- we need fresh blood.
