How is it brave? 99.9999% of the people who live anywhere near their farm are also against white supremacists. What would be brave in this area would be a business putting up a pro-Trump sign, lol.

huh? plenty of Trump signs in Centreville

On storefronts and other businesses?

No way in hell would a business in Centreville announce that they're pro-Trump. They would go out of business so fast it would make your head spin. Not to mention they'd probably have their property vandalized and be at risk of bodily injury.

Fairfax Underground misses you. Feel free to head back anytime.

I'm not from FF Underground. I know it's hard to grasp this with your feeble mind, but there are millions of Conservatives in this country and I'm one of them, with opinions, and we don't hang out on FF underground.

You might be a conservative politically but you are also a white supremacist.

What is the criteria to be a "white supremacist"?

The republicans have gotten in bed with white supremacists. Therefore, sympathizers. So, while a person may not be one personally, it isn’t a dealbreaker to be associated with it.

So, one who has conservative viewpoints is supposed to affiliate themselves with the Democratic party which is more extreme left than it has ever been? Is that really what you suggest? I didn't choose Trump, but I disagree with the Democrats on many issues. I'm not okay with white supremacists, so don't tell me that I am.

Anonymous wrote:Does this make sense? I'm not a member of either party, but giving this some thought, here's what I think might be going on:

I think that conservatives are aware that liberals think that all conservatives are racist. Now most conservatives are not racists, but conservatives read the newspapers and listen to NPR, so they are aware of what liberals think of them.

So, when they see a business which is very public in its support of more liberal, progressive issues put up a sign saying this, then they kind of figure the business is subtly trying to paint all conservatives with the same brush. Particularly when the sign it replaces previous said to resist the republican president, so that they appear to be setting up an equivalence with any set of words that come after the word "Resist."

So I think there might be a sense that no matter what words the sign owners write after the word "Resist," they are really referring to conservatives/republicans, whether or not those words refer to the beliefs of 99.9% of conservatives or republicans.

Thank you! I am the one who kept pestering for an explanation and this is very plausible and helpful.

Thanks! This is what just makes sense to me.

Agree that it’s super frustrating when you oppose single payer, big government, local government autonomy, etc. I’m a classic conservative: big government is dangerous and freedom is good.

But I have donated thousands and campaigned for Dems ever since Trump won the primary. Because opposing institutionalized racism is more important than free market.

There are options other than d or r

But, yes, voting for R’s at this point makes you a sympathizer.

Come on, most Rs are not in any way, shape, or form sympathizers on this. Especially ones who live around D.C.

Most Rs find white supremacist viewpoints absolutely abhorrent and disgusting.

Stop. Seriously. Do you not get that your party has given cover to these groups? Make excuses for them? Oh, and push racist policies?

Sympathizers. Complicit.

What is amazing is that the people who are so offended or outraged by this sign have just unmasked themselves as white supremacists.

Would have been highly relevant at the turn of the 19th century!

Cox farms is liberal because their family is liberal (I think one of them is LBGT). So if they choose to post their views on a sign, that is their choice. If it makes them more money- great. But most likely- it’s a risk where they are. They aren’t as “liberal” as DC or even FFX. And they had a lot of criticism for their BLM sign.

This sign was the first to get a huuuge backlash. Because some people think that they are saying “resist whites” and/or their “supremacy.” And I think that was the point: to show that the people who are offended either can’t read (as evidenced by a lot of the dumb posts about it) or think that it’s a political jab (which it shouldn’t be.)

And herein lies the effed up portion of this: white supremacy should never have becomes a left or right wing agenda. But somehow, it has- and it’s not the lefts fault. It’s the elected GOP- for not rejecting the KKK.

So now it’s the voting GOPs decision to either reject those people (and vote for someone else) or embrace their new vision that white supremacy is ok. My theory is that the GOP will continue to vote for white supremacy as it suits them.

And for the conservatives who thinks that liberals are commies: we didn’t vote for Bernie in the primary and he’s the socialist. We voted for the capitalist Clinton. By three million more than you and you won the presidency. And Yet, the GOP is still the one still making deals with the devil.

the bolded is what I meant above. Sympathizers.

However, I have to take issue with the last portion. Socialism is not the same as communism. Communism is basically the extreme form of socialism, but socialists are not necessarily communists.
