Holy sh#t. Have conservatives lost their mind?
https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/resist-white-supremacy-a-sign-a-farm-and-the-fury-that-followed/2018/02/13/47e7dfa2-10e0-11e8-9065-e55346f6de81_story.html So they are now supporting white supremacy? How have y'all fallen so low, so quickly? Link to the debates on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CoxFarmsVa/photos/a.111775332453.97085.105458692453/10156345631902454/ |
| Huh? It reads like it means they are against white supremacy- a message to resist/refuse/reject white supremacy. |
That's my take, too. They stirred some controversy for supporting Black Lives Matter in the Fall. https://www.facebook.com/notes/cox-farms/cox-family-response-re-black-lives-matter-signfairfax-fop-boycott/10153193509517444/ |
| I think the OP meant conservatives [who oppose the sign] have lost their mind, not that the farm owners are crazy. And I'd have to agree. |
My post was about the reactions to the signs from conservatives in the Northern Virginia area. Local conservatives have taken offense to Cox Farm's "divisive" sign. LOL, it's just too funny to watch conservatives get themselves mentally boxed into a position where they defend white supremacy. |
| Go, Cox Farms! Fight the bigots. |
|
Those goats on their home page are super cute.
Does anyone know if they have a spring "meet the baby animals" type thing? We used to go to Reston Zoo years ago but stopped because of the awful woman that killed animals there, and now we sometimes go to Frying Pan park, but I'd love to support Cox Farms this spring! |
| Now, I'm going to have to go visit there to support - damn their open minded and free speaking ways! |
| they picked that sign for exactly that reason: people who complain now will be admitting they're white supremacists. and it worked. |
it was pretty brilliant. |
I love it. I am definitely going to visit Cox farms in the Spring. Love what they are doing. |
They have some chickens, goats, llama wandering around near their farm stand, but its not like an actual working farm where there would be lots of baby animals. I live nearby and their signs are always on-point. |
| Brilliant marketing@ |
|
The funny part is that the half-smart conservatives have to quietly stew about this, lest they out themselves as being sympathetic to white supremacists.
They soooooooo want to express their disapproval of the sign but can't do so without proving Cox Farm's point. It's delicious irony, so many salty tears. |
| If you read the article it sounds like they weren't trying to be clever or box anyone in-- they were just trying to find a sentiment everyone could support. SAD |
