She's 36 and her fertility is declining. If Harry's heirs way down in the line, then it may not matter. |
What do you think your sisters and sisters in law called you? |
Maybe they will just elope! |
Good for Meghan, I think they are cute together and hope to see them engaged. She's cute, stylish, seems fun and outgoing - everything that Kate is not. lol
And to the person posting all this odd race stuff.. I'm a biracial, black identifying woman. No, I do not think this is a victory for Black people. I consider Meghan biracial because I think that's how she identifies. Serena is most definitely not white identifying. Do you consider Iman, Frederick Douglass, Sidney Poitier, Henry Louis Gates, Harry Belafonte, James Brown, Dave Chapelle, or Diana Ross as white identifying because of their marriages to a White person? |
Probably "the queen who got a ring in a year because he knew a good thing when he saw it" |
Preach! It is not easy!
Lol! I side-eyed Kate during her "waiting period", but hey they were both in their 20's at the time which can be a rollercoaster period for relationships. It seemed pathetic at the time, but not uncommon. Heck I know women who played house in their 20's with a guy and he stayed a frog, never morphed into a prince and acquired way too much baggage along the way that was accepted out of desperation. I still side eye Kate since all she has to do is show up, wear conservative designer duds and wave since she doesn't seem to publicly speak very often. We all knew, knew of or was that person who waited/hung around for years and it all turned to @#*!. Yes, Kate waited around for nearly decade, but now #goals. With Meagan I sense the saltiness is due to the why not me!!!! syndrome. With Chuck and Di it was drilled into women's heads that only certain women with a certain pedigree and look are suitable for the royal life, but since then if you look into royal families across Europe, all kinds of women (and men) have married in. The reality is a bi-racial American divorcee with no title or noble background who is marching towards 40 just may have landed one of the most eligible bachelors in the world in one of the most famous families in the world with crowns and castles in her future; whereas others landed a jobless man child with 2 kids, or if you are lucky a GS11 who may be having an affair with a co-worker, a timeshare in Rehoboth, inlaws who hate them and a brokedown minivan! If this happens, I wish them both well. Marriage is work! |
Ha! Love this post! ![]() |
Very well said! I completely agree. Kate has received a lot of hate since her relationship with Prince William was revealed to the public. I'm sure a lot of the hate had to do with the fact that a recently new money, average looking daughter of an air hostess was the love interest of one of the world's most eligible men. Now, take it in that she must've been as bedazzled, charmed and confused as we all were. But it turns out there was stuff in there college relationship that was made for longevity. Dating a man that out of your league cannot possibly be easy; he was selfish and unkind, publically dumping her twice and being wishy washy about a commitment to her for 10 long years during the peak of her youth and fertility. A woman with more self respect would have jumped ship after the second breakup. She would have been just fine. Landed herself a new money financier and lived a carefree and plush Sloan-y life like her sister. But she hung on. Because the man she had spent so much time with and effort on was Prince freaking William, son of Diana, heir to the British throne. And if luck sheds a once in many generations light on you, you don't just walk away when you're so close. Unlike other women William pursued. She stuck around and approaching 30, with no other eligible prospects and confident in his knowledge that she isn't going anywhere he proposed. And an ordinary British girl not only secured herself generations of security, comfort and all the trappings of marrying into Royalty, but also a biline in future history books. With Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, it seems luck has struck again. A random d-list actress who is a biracial divorce has caught the eye of the second most eligible man in the world. Call it luck. Call it destiny. Meghan's been chosen and she's rising to the occasion. Yes it's ok to be jealous as us mere mortals slip through life stuck on 66 traffic after a grueling day of silly paper pushing and come home to our oh so average husbands. |
If Harry's the second most eligible man in the world, who is the most eligible? |
Harry is playing. He's not going to marry a woman past optimum childbearing age, and 36 is Down Syndrome risky. |
It must be over. This kind of gushing in the press is a big NO with the royals.

LOL I posted about waity kate and I agree with you. It's funny- if William had chosen not to marry her after all that time, she would have been a sad loser. But that one choice he made (which I'm sure he faced public pressure about at that point- not to leave her) legitimized her and totally made her into #goals for so many women. Funny how that one decision someone else makes has all the power to determine things As for Meagan I agree. I also think there's just a straight up "she's American!!!!" factor. Kind of, like, I guess- if one of the Obama girls ran off with a Brit. I don't think Americans would care as much because we're more open to diversity and don't have a real royal family here, but I guess in Britain they are a source of patriotism so that's kind of difficult for them to deal with. |
It isn't over, it will just linger until Meghan gets her next acting gig. She got her Vanity Fair cover from it, and that's all she needs. Babies are the last thing she wants to wreak havoc on her body. Most bookmakers in London have suspended betting on an engagement, much less a marriage. Harry took her to Botswana because as he stated, he likes the place. I suspect he will end up with a woman involved in the Invictus games. That seems to be his passion, and I think that is where he will find his true love. |
This isn't at all what you think it means. |
+1. That means that the bookies think it is a fait accompli, which is exactly what my DH heard from his contacts in the British media. They're already prepping for the announcement. |
