OMG...what's going on in that school????

Defense layers will be making victim a whore, that's clear from the posted interview.
It's awful for an adult to go through all that girl had already experienced and what's waiting for her, for a child - I can't even imagine, poor little thing.

Dure sounds lime a gang initiation ritual!

You were right!

Attackers have pictures on their cell phone flashing signs for MS-13! Very likely a gang initiation like rape.

BUT, I think that if she really did agree to go beforehand and she went in the bathroom with them willingly, it means people should not be blaming the school's lax security. Are security guards supposed to peek into stalls all day to see what's going on?

I really don't know. But the whole thing makes me want to flee montgomery county.

Here are 160,000 students in the county and you want to flee because of something that happened to 1? Turn off the news and get off DCUM. It's a big world out there and only the highly unusual upsetting stuff makes it to the news.

No its not one incident - its a cumulative thing. But yes getting off DCUM would help.

One? Not the PP but this obviously involves more than 1 single student.

What about the 2 attached? What about the assault at Rockville HS a week earlier?

What about that poor girl who as murdered in Gaithersburg due to gang related violence?

Which cluster are you in PP? Not all of us can afford Potomac, but we do deserve to have our kids feel safe at their HS, even if it is Rockville and not a W school.

Typical reaponse. This rape shouldn't bother you because it was just 1 young Latino girl and this type of thing couldn't possibly happen at a W school? I don't care what school your kid goes to. This is not 1 isolated incident. Could happen at any HS in the county.

Hearing scheduled for today was postponed until April 7.

Found this statement from the attorneys interesting:

Mr. Wooten said Mr. Montano’s adopted family members are U.S. citizens and that if he acquitted of the crime, he “will have a chance to obtain legal residency.”
While several family members and friends attended Friday’s court hearing, some waiving at Mr. Montano as he was led out of the courtroom, they declined to talk with reporters.

No, my kids don't go to a W school -- far from it. I just think indicting a whole system because of a handful of high profile incidents is faulty logic. Georgetown Day Schoolmis currently investigating a teacher for sexual misconduct. And they only have 1000 students instead of 160,000. I went to a pricy private high school where the swim coach was fired for sexual misconduct. The Olympic gymnastics team doctor is currently being investigated for 20 years of sexual misconduct. It doesn't make any sense to me to blame an entire institution and abandon it every time something like this happens.

The cover-up of the March 7 attack came from the top, but blew open when the next crime happened there.

Why wasn't the March 7 criminal ever arrested?

I don’t know, but I hope that the family of the victim files a suit against her AND against the school system.
And I am very anti-litigation in general.

It shouldn't matter what she sent them via text. If she said no it's rape

Bingo.

Adopted family members? How do you adopt a child that is not in the country legally? I know they have a foster-kid refugee program but this attorney is stretching it.

If you read the article it says the boy was adopted as a young child after his mother died. Members of that adoptive family moved to the US. So they were members of his adoptive family long before he came.

His mother died in his home country. They are his relatives and they adopted him.
