SO, as a male professor in your mid-30's without children what inspired your posting onto DCUM in the Tweens and Teens page?
My second question - are A's really A's in college these days, it seems like grade inflation that every has such high GPSA's |
| What should HS students do now to prepare themselves to succeed in your course? |
So gross!!!
|
This? |
I am a college coach (female) without children and coming on this board gives me insight into why students and parents act the way they do and the kinds of mindsets that are out there. It's not because I'm a creep. |
You sound more like a college counselor/president than a professor. Everyone knows all of the classes are for colleges to make $$$$. I mean really, I went into a medical field (not a doctor) and had to take Western Civ and shit load of classes that were prerequisites that didn't do anything for me but increase my student loan debt. What a scam. |
But when your parents are on their electronics 24/7 and give you a tablet at age 6 and a phone at the age of 10, it is really hard to learn self control. Just like if your parents served you fast food and processed food your whole life. Kinda hard to go off to college and learn self control by eating salads daily. |
Example?? |
Reading these threads make it easy to understand why my kids run home to mom and dad every single weekend of the semester. Why they think it's okay to miss practice or a competition for trivial things (not class or study related). What the general attitude is among parents and why parents don't tend to encourage independence as much as they encourage running to mom and dad to fix things. Why they feel the need to be involved in 200 activities instead of being loyal and focused to just a few. Need I go on ?? |
So you just come on and read all of the threads? You aren't searching on a topic or posting specific questions? How did you first find DCUM? |
I post or participate in a variety of DCUM forums (not always as a coach...most often just as a regular person). Found DCUM a long time ago searching for something, I can't remember exactly what. |
NP. It's to make you a well-rounded person who understands the world (or at least a bit of it) and can think critically. I didn't major in psychology, but took psych classes as my sciences; wasn't pre-law, but took classes in modern justice and urban life; didn't major in religion, but took a class on modern religions; didn't major in art, but took both art history and practical art classes. They helped instill a sense of curiosity and understanding about our world. College isn't (necessarily) just a vocational experience. |
Advil doesn't do anything for a heavy period you sexist braying imbecilic ass. Besides this whole thread HAS to be fake. No respectable "...professor at a 4-year college/university..." would post something so absurd. |
You prople are UNREAL. I have endometriosis and had to get suegery to reconstruct my rectum because the endo grew outside my uterud and attached to my rectum. I still have the endo, my periods are still awful and i still manage to make it into work. It's a LAME excuse to miss an exam. You all are raising future losers. And to pull the woman card? Pathetic. No wonder so many of us are not taken seriously. It's clowns like you. |
Because you fools are arguing over period clots. |
