Catholic Schools Releasing Admissions Today

I have a child at Bishop Ireton already. Because we have one in, my younger one applied to Bishop Ireton and the grades were decent. We received the letter the same day as other classmates on 2/23/16. Half of the class was accepted and the other half received notices that 3rd quarter grades were needed before a decision was made. We had no back up plan because we didn't expect this at all. We applied to Bishop O'Connell late and anxiety-filled on 2/25/16 and received an acceptance letter on 2/27/16. I haven't received financial aid decisions yet; not even for my returning student at Ireton. I don't know how the late application submission will affect FA. This has not been a pleasant experience.

Nothing in today's mail. So I guess that answers whether the letter get mailed or are received on the 25th.

I called St. John's today and was informed that they are being mailed out today. the wait is also killing me. I am not going to work tomorrow. I am so stressed out. If DC does not get in, we will have to move to upper NW for Wilson or move to Maryland.

OMG. Good luck, pp. I'm also waiting!!

DC did not get in. Guess it is time to start house hunting.

Ugh. Sorry about that. Was that the only place DC applied? Where are you now? Did you do the lottery?

Yes, it was the only school DC applied to. DC attends Basis, HSPT 95, and grades are a B average.

Perhaps look at Carroll as an option? It is an ADW school, and you could ensure your DC takes AP courses to stay on track?

You could definitely do this, ensure they take the most rigorous courseload and transfer. Or check in late March when the ADW posts the schools that have "second round" openings.

I take it your IB high school isn't an option? Did you do Latin or SWW? I would think coming out of BASIS SWW would have been an option or St. Anslem's? If you really don't want to stay at BASIS I would follow up with Carroll and St. Anslem's. Are you active in your parish? I would think that would help with Carroll. Good luck!

Carroll is in the second round almost every year so I would reach out to them ASAP.
