It also never happens at private schools. And privileged lacrosse players from schools like Landon never kill their beautiful private school girlfriends at exclusive universities.

According to the parent that I spoke with, the fistfights were related to bullying (attempts), not gang activity. Her child was the recipient of one such altercation (and he was standing right next to us as she recalled the incident), so I have no reason to believe she/they're lying. Like I said, I have no dog in this fight, so believe whatever you wish.

I have 2 kids at DCI now and they say it is safer, kinder, and more interesting and challenging than our feeder, which we thought was wonderful. There are so many fun and creative activities going on during lunch and after school that every kid finds a niche. We couldn't be happier!!!

Which feeder school did your kids attend?

+1. Several of DS's classmates at our feeder have older siblings who attend DCI. They are happy. The school isn't perfect but better than any of the other public alternatives if your child attends an immersion school. Haven't heard about fighting.

No I accused you of lying. Because you are. Haven't heard this from my kid or anyone else who sends their kid there.

NP here, just because your child didn't see it or hear about it, the allegations must be false? Come on now. I have a child who attends Wilson and didn't see or hear about the brawl that made it to the news.

Lol--you protest way too much! I think you're afraid because you know it's true. I wonder if you'll post here if your child ends up in a fistfight at DCI.

If there is a fist fight in any school then every kid knows about it within hours. Perhaps the PP isn't being truthful, but perhaps the kid who was present isn't truthful. He wouldn't be the first kid in the world to make something up or embellish the truth to get attention. Kids who cry, "Bully!" immediately have attention and sympathy.

Thank you!!! I have found DCI parents (along with YY) to be the most defensive and insecure boosters ever. Yes, those schools are better than your IB options, but they are far from perfect. We will discuss the good and the bad, despite your efforts to stop the discussion.

Wow--now you're blaming the victim. DCI sounds like a very warm and supportive community .

No, just blaming whoever or whatever situation is fabricating a story of a fist fight IF it isn't true.

Two girls at our feeder elementary raked the other kids in the class over the coals with false allegations of bullying. In one form or another it went on for two years. In the end, everyone hated both of them for the constant negativity, interrogations, and discipline for things that never happened. One of them finally outgrew it and the other went to a different school. I guess my post is related to being oversensitive to victimization culture.
