I've rewatched the scene several times, and I'm now convinced he didn't die.
Fingers crossed..... |
Glenn is alive. That WAS Nicholas on top of him. I noticed two things in the moment: 1. guts coming out of what appeared to be Glenn's chest, and 2. his face didn't read "dying" or "death throws," more like he was upset by what he saw. I watched his view, the walkers. But the death piece still didn't make sense. I think he was still focused on Nicholas and what had become of him. Glenn is a ball of awesome. He walked with Rick, remember, covered in walker yuck in the first episode they shared. (Was it really called "Guts"?) We're going to see him again. I warned about Judith last week, y'all. Did that wolfie jar of baby food not get your attention?!! OMG. WHAT AN AMAZING SEASON!!!! |
|
What's funny is that when the limping woman told them to go on without her, then shot at the encroaching hoard, I wondered aloud why she didn't just shoot herself in the head and spare herself that awful death. Nicholas must have heard me. |

If Glenn is dead I'm pissed at the writers for giving him such a shitty, fast ending.
If Glenn is alive I'm pissed at the writers for making his escape from that unrealistic. I don't want some "Lori ghost" Glenn type stuff. I want Glenn! |
Agree!! I am now believing he's still alive but COME ON that's a ridiculous escape (not in a good way) |
there are lots of rumors and images floating around of him still on set. So it is possible that he is still alive. But I agree that it would kind of piss me off if he were to escape from an impossible situation. |
On Talking Dead last night they read a message from one of the producers saying that we would see Glenn again in some form, but said that they couldn't say whether it would be in a flashback or in the future or parts of him. So him still being on the set isn't inconsistent with him being dead if they're filming flashback scenes. |
| I saw Talking Dead right after, and they did allude to Glen coming back in some form, leaving it open. Maybe they are just keeping everyone hanging (though things like this are saved for end of season cliffhangers). I find it curious though that the Walkers didn't go after his face and neck like they usually do. This part was really curious to me. There were hoards of them, and they only went after the midsection, and left Glen's face and neck? Makes no sense. |
Yeah, but it doesn't make sense considering these events were happening concurrently. |

Ok, so the more I've been reading about it/thinking about it, Glenn could certainly be alive for the time being as the zombies are devouring Nicholas' body on top of him but I'm not really sure how he could get away from the zombie hoard. Maybe go under the dumpster, idk, but he's probably a goner. And Maggie is definitely pregnant...when Maggie and Glenn discussed her staying behind, the implication was subtle but I pointed it out to my husband immediately.
I'm still curious about Judith. I agree that Enid taking her is a far fetched idea but what was with the jar of baby food? Just another red herring to throw us off or are the wolves holding Judith for some reason? |
The wolf havign baby food was strange. Not sure if it was there to symbolize how Aaron got Rick and the group to Alexandria (with the baby food/applesauce) or for some other reason. I also can't imagine taking Judith. I mean who the hell wants to care for a baby in these times |
The Wolf group took any food they could, including baby food. Rick saw the baby jar food and made the connection that this group must've attacked the Alexandria group, and they possibly could've killed his kids. They would take the baby to eat her, not care for her. That would be the assumption. |
She tried to take as many of them out as she could to help the group before they got to her. As for Glen, I'm just not sure either way. Yes, it sort of looks like Nicholas fell on top of him, and while maybe unlikely he'd make it out of that situation, he was right by a dumpster and could've pulled himself under once they finished with Nicholas (assuming he kept quiet). I guess we'll see... |
| The baby food could have come from Alexandria, but that would be an interesting choice to take. Baby food is very low in calories, ounce for ounce, and heavy to carry due to the glass jar. With all of the food available in Alexandria, why that? Almost made me wonder if the Wolves have babies of their own to take care of. |

Interesting read - it has some spoilers related to the comic, though:
