The fact that neither parent has made a statement makes me think the three adults are both parents and one housekeeper, or maybe everyone else already thinks that but I haven't read that on this thread yet. I did read in the Daily Mail (the UK website which seems to be particularly interested in this story), that one of the adults had blunt force trauma to the head.
I thought I had read that BOTH housekeepers lived at the home, which makes me wonder why the second one wouldn't have been there. I hate to say it, but was the second housekeeper involved??? Not that she was there, but helped the people who did, if in fact it was an inside job. I hope not. I do know a very, VERY wealthy family where their driver and a few friends broke in/ held hostage one of the parents and the children in their own home for a ransom, it was about 10 years ago in the north east. They were in disguise and injected the parent with a "special serum" to induce them to pay. Thankfully no one was physically very hurt and the men were captured, and then it was discovered the ring leader was their driver. So these things, as weird and as sad as they are, actually happen. This entire story is heart breaking. |
Unless one of the parents is a suspect... |
The opposite for me. If both adult parents are dead, you'd think their parents would have said something by now. Could the husband be on the lam? |
I can't remember where I read it, but I did read online somewhere statements from both maternal and paternal grandfathers (fathers of both the husband and the wife) who both said the authorities had NOT identified even to them who had died in the fire and even they didn't know if their children or grandson were dead or alive. And that they were too upset to say anymore. |
If the husband isn't one of the victims, then who would the 3rd adult be? |
If this was a home invasion, why are they refusing to release the identity of the victims? I don't understand that. I also wonder what is going on with the teenage daughters. We've heard nothing about them. |
The victims are the parents, the son and a housekeeper. I thought that was known. Is it not in the papers? I know many people who know this family and they all are saying those are the four found in th who use.

Seems like a home invasion in the early morning. Maybe no alarm because they came in while someone was trying to leave -- dad to work, kid to school, housekeeper taking out the trash, etc. Then they kept everyone at home for a few hours before killing them. Maybe trying to get something from the family - money, information, etc.
I'm guessing that the killer knew the family (probably professional connection to the dad), but there's a decent chance that it was random. Mom may have told the intruders that another housekeeper was coming and suggested that she tell her not to come with the hope that her text would be so odd as to be seen as a call for help. I've heard that tip before -- if in danger and you get a chance to make a call that's being monitored by the assailant, call someone by a nickname you don't usually use for them, say something they would view as strange, etc. to try to indicate that something is wrong. It seems like a decent idea if she had no other chances and was getting worried that they would be killed. |
This has not been released in the media. This is what people are speculating, but it has not been confirmed. I think one neighbor said she saw the mom and the housekeeper removed on a stretcher, and there seems to be consensus about the 10-year old being the child, but the 3rd adult is not confirmed. Maybe it's the dad, but that's not clear yet. I just wonder why this information is not being released if this was simply a home invasion. |
There is a new story just published online at the Post. No new real information, except the sister of the father is still saying they have not confirmed to the family exactly who the deceased people are. How horrible would that be? |
It is being handled by the schools with tremendous compassion, concern, overwhelming care and professional support. This family and their children have many friends. The news is causing widespread devastation and shock. If you live locally, and have similar social circles, and have a child with an Instagram or Twitter account, they will probably be seeing things posted by friends. You might want to monitor your kids account to make sure it's not too upsetting for them to handle. What is up thus far seems to be very mild and respectful but, good to keep an eye on it anyway. Just FYI. |
How do they know? |
I thought this was established as well. I am lost at this point. |
This is not in the papers at all at this point. Follow the story on the Post. The information is slower, but more reliable as it is the official statements. |
I remember that they had big dogs. Big, beautiful dogs that would have probably attacked any intruders. I've been wondering, did they die too?
So sad and disturbing. All of this. |
