More seriously, I'm no scientist, but if they inflated the balls to (lowest allowed by regulation) 12.5 psi inside, where it was like 70 degrees, and carried them outside into the cold, wouldn't some additional deflation happen naturally? Or not that quick?
You know, the same way my car tires go softer in the cold?
Finally someone has explained this in a way that I can understand. Every time I go into very cold water, I alway get penis shrinkage. So the same laws of physics must apply to footballs as well.
