Okay, anyone disappointed in Obama so far?

1. Only no one can agree about what to do or where to put the detainees…
2. Have we defined torture?
3. Were we not alreadly withdrawing from Iraq?
4. Not so much part of a balanced budget though was it?
5. We never banned stem cell research, just federal funding on new stem cell lines.
6. A conscience is only important if it agrees with liberal causes I suppose?
7. Yawn
8. What a disaster. Let’s see what the California plan does while the entire auto industry, domestic and foreign, is on its knees
9. See # 6
10. Wait, wasn’t the budget “Old Business?”
11. So long as Science serves the liberal POV

And finally, wasn't "Executive Authority" an expletive before January 20, 2009?

I was going to address your points one-by-one, also. But, really, you're not going to be happy with anything re: Obama. Your retorts and your tone indicate you've solidly chosen your side, so to speak. And, frankly, your not going to change my view with views expressed as you have.

To answer the question. Am I disappointed with Obama so far. Unequiviocally, no. I'm very happy, in fact.

I didn't expect a whole lot out of Obama to begin with but Obama and Biden have definitely succeeded in being not John McCain and Sarah Palen and therefor not promoting McCain's health plan. I'm still relieved about that.

I think he's doing GREAT and literally hit the ground running, quite frankly I'm amazed at what's been done already!! For pete's sake- he's been in office for 50 days! I agree with one of the very early posters.... let's talk about this at 1/2 time, rather than 2 minutes into the game!

And why in the are we blaming OBAMA for any of this or any lack of action on his part?? Who the heck was driving the car for the last 8 years PUTTING us here, leaving Obama/his admin to drive the car out of the cavernous ditch??

The stock market is up, day 6 in a row now.

He's making moves on health care reform already.

He's over-turned stem cell research ban.

He's selecting people with GREAT records of action from both sides of the playing field, not just cronies. There are going to be big disagreements, and he's made clear that he learns from welcome arguments and debates, hence why he's all over the place in selections.

He's taken the steps to STOP the insane spending on a ridiculous war where $BILLION$ of our dollars where going and to bring most of our troops back from there (you want to talk about fiscal irresponsibility where it could have been placed elsewhere???)

He's restored at least a bit of respect to the USA in terms of shutting down Guantanamo and not playing the do as we say, not as we do game. Torture doesn't work folks. Seriously- if someone were drowning me- I'd be making s@#t up and saying whatever I thought they'd believe to make them stop, not caring how much of it was a truth or lie. Let's totally ignore the research that's been done on this, why don't we. lol We, as a country, should be far better than this.

I guess I always found it interesting how right-wingers are anti-abortion, anti-stem cell research, ,etc....... but boy, bring on torture techniques, education cuts and the death penalty! It's like you care until people are actually born.

He's doing a great job with what kind of hand he was given.

To the OP:
Nope, I campaigned for Obama, and I'm LOVIN' what he's done so far. It's not without mis-steps, but MAN, has he made some serious ground so far, in short time! I'm totally with the poster just above me.

If he's done THIS MUCH in a bit over 50 days...... check back in at the 1 or 2 year mark. I'm very excited.

It's been a month. I think he's doing just fine.

I do not agree. He has just done alot of "stuff" not thinking of long term consequences (especially the economy).

I'm a bit disappointed, but willing to give him some more time. He strikes me as business as usual--working on his own partisan agenda, nothing more, nothing less. In other words, nothing special.

So far, we've seen that he's very good at signing executive orders. We haven't really seen that he's able to accomplish anything else. Also, his administration's acceptance of China's human right violations is incredibly disappointing. His popularity ratings have dropped by what, 20% since the election. So obviously, many are disappointed.

I think the same thing today that I thought when the OP posted this thread. WAY too early to judge.

I'm glad they passed the homeowner affordability/stability act. Now if I can just get my darn bank to answer my calls.... I'm not sure they want me to keep my home. Although I can't imagine they want any more foreclosed homes on their hands....

If you can't pay your mortgage, you should have your home taken away. We need to flush the parasites like you out of hte housing market and get a fresh start, you are dead weight dragging us down.

Look, I'm a liberal also, but it's unfair to satirize conservatives by implying they are all heartless.

That was parody, wasn't it???

I think it was our own people who did a lot of "stuff" without thinking about long term consequences. Now we want it fixed just as quickly and easily as we dived into pricey real estate and rang up the cash registers with borrowed money. Economic turnaround is going to take time. Our impatience for luxury in life caused us to buy what we could not afford. Now we need to be patient for the solution, or that impatience will doom us economically for a generation.

I'm not saying that we should be blindly trusting our leaders. But we have to expect this to take time, just like once upon a time we had to wait several years to buy a house or get a new car or save up for a trip to somewhere nice. We need this maturity, as a people, to stop this clock watching and freaking out with every news item, and get down to rebuilding our own lives while the government works to straighten out the rest of this mess.

I am so disappointed, as will our children who will have to foot the bill.

Very disappointed.

Was a supporter. Very disappointed with current administrations attempts to pit the haves and have nots against each other and kill the American Dream of making it (50 cents for every dollar I make goes to someone else - I"m not going to work that hard!)
