Same here- didn't vote for him and nothing's surprised me so far. He's taking what would have been a major recession/minor depression into a depression that will last 10-15 years.

Of Democrats, who presumably voted for Obama, if they voted, 7/10 approve of his budget proposal. Others say that they don't know enough to have an opinion. So I doubt many who voted for him are having second thoughts. http://www.gallup.com/poll/116242/Initial-Reaction-Obama-Budget-Tilts-Positive.aspx |
PP here -- I scrolled down that link I posted and looked at the chart -- only 5% of Democrats view the budget in a negative way. So no, Democrats aren't having second thoughts on seeing the details. They like Obama and what he is proposing.

I read in the Wash. Times yesterday, that stimulus money saved 7,100 state jobs in Va, and health programs were not forced to close down. I for one, am looking forward to a bigger paycheck in April, even if it's only a little bit bigger. And I noticed grocery prices have come down, so that's a slight relief. |
Be careful about taking that bigger paycheck (changing your deductions) - if your household earns 150K or you are single and earn 75 K or more the Making Work Pay credit will not apply to you and you will owe the money back to the IRS. |
I was in particular disappointed by his handling of the crisis so far. He seems clueless, still insists on priorities that he promised but are increasingly becoming obsolete. His message is confusing, one day insisting on re balancing budge and next day proposed a mind-blogging budget. He also continues to "confuse saving banks with saving bankers".
In a news that the major media didn't bother to report, Nobel Prize-Winning Economist Joseph Stiglitz said Obama Has Confused Saving the Banks with Saving the Bankers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7zp3PH38k8 |
I think he is doing great. Imagine George W. was still in charge--yikes! |
Or the Mavericks (shudder) |
You are a total buzzkill. |
Please explain how Obama is creating a 10-year depression, and what you or the Republicans would do that would be a better solution? |
I would cut taxes for individuals and for corporations just like the gipper did. I would not penalize people for success and put them in a position where they are going to not spend and not want to keep employees. I would also give tax incentives for anyone who wanted to buy a car that was made in the US. |
Nobody could have predicted that you would support nothing but tax breaks. BTW, are you aware that Reagan increased taxes? The Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act was the largest peacetime tax increase in American history. That was only one of several tax increases that Reagan enacted. Also, regarding your tax incentive plan for cars. How do you define "made in the US"? Is is simply a matter of assembly, or content? For instance, is a Honda assembled in Ohio "made in the US"? How about a Ford assembled in Mexico? What if the Ford's engine and transmission are produced in the US while the Honda's come from Japan? |
I'm sorry, like the man or not, you CANNOT possibly claim he is CLUELESS. And like many PP have already stated, why are you so quick to judge ? We gave a truly clueless President eight years to run this country into the ground, yet Obama is supposed to turn it around in weeks. Come on people ! |
You can count Jim Cramer of "Mad Money" as being disappointed. He was an outspoken supporter during the election, but did an about face today and described Obama in these words "This is the most, greatest wealth destruction I've seen by a president."

Cramer got it right. We are in plane heading for emergence landing, but the captain is still in a dreamy state.
