How do you know that any of those posters are actually affiliated with Holton? It's a sad fact that there are a lot of trolls on DCUM.

So all these HA posters have nothing to do with Holton? Got it!

You really believe that people affiliated with HA are writing "[t]his is by far the best school in the nation"?

Yes, I certainly do. HA parents for sure. Which is pretty pathetic.

I would wager that's not your actual belief. DCUM is a better place when trolls stay out of things so that those of us who are actually trying to evaluate schools can get useful information.

Then you would be wrong again but no worries.

Then your belief is highly uninformed.

Spoken like a true HA parent.

Nope. My DD is a current applicant to HA and to several other schools in the area. I've spoken to many students, parents and faculty at every school we're applying to, including Holton, and not one person at Holton (or the other schools) has expressed any obnoxious sentiments of this type about their respective school. Pretty much all the schools have a community of people who take a lot of pride in their own school, but also have a lot of respect and complimentary things to say about their peer schools. Nobody in real life refers to their own school with hyperbole like "by far the best school in the nation." Unfortunately, anonymous threads are great for sock puppets to stir up trouble.

Public magnets. No question. Holton is not even close.

Why are Families that are not even considering HA or any private school so invested in tearing privates (including Holton) down??? Perhaps it’s the nature and culture of DC but I am sick of it. I know some of you may be trying to answer the question which appears to be a set up in the first place. Others are are just being ugly. If it’s wasn’t for you or your Family then move on.
