Why do some SAHM wear workout gear all day?

That's not what your husband says.

When I was nursing and covered in baby vomit all day I still managed to put on a pair of regular pants, tank top and cardigan. I can't imagine giving up on life like that and I'm not a very formal person. The point is that you are wearing clothes that are meant to be worn at home or in the gym but you are out in public. I don't want to teach my children to live their lives in sweatpants. I don't want to teach them to be vain, but they need to have some self respect.

Cardigan? Did you wear pearls or a necklace with your monogram on it too, grandma? I bet you are very dull and boring.

Yes, such a very frumpy look (especially with a cotton tank and flats instead of heels).

Hi Steve - thanks so much!

I wore very comfortable clothes at any opportunity long before I became a SAHM - pjs on the moment I was in for the night. I also have zero interest in fashion and live in a very low-key neighborhood where nobody gives a f-k what I wear.
I'm grateful for that.

I love wearing matching sets to yoga/pilates. Like a long line bra/crop top and leggings/capris/bike shorts. Then usually a sweatshirt or jacket in a complimentary or neutral color. I like to skip the bright or black sets and wear pastels/muted tones.

That’s nice! You resurrected a ten year old thread to tell us the colors of the clothes you wear?

Same reason people hire other people to raise their kids.

Why do you need to emphasize “expensive” workout wear? And how is it clear they didn’t work out?
Seems like this is your question not hers and it’s not a question it’s a judgement.

I think it’s bots when this happens.

This post is resurrecting a 10 year old thread and it reads very weird. Is it AI? I often wonder if there’s a bot presence.

Is your au pair from another country? I moved to the US as an adult and generally people are more casually dressed here.

Me, too! Why not just stay in your pjs?!

1. Who cares?
2. I work and workout in athleisire during the day and you can’t “tell.”
