I am an atheist, ask me anything.

Would that be like.. The Ten Commandments ?

Apparently you derive your self worth from trolling, rather than any genuine desire for discussion. That's sad and pathetic, but if that's the only way for you to feel like your life has value, then I'm glad you have something.

I think deep down inside, you believe you have a soul. And I think it's cute !

OP here. No. Not the same. We have courts and prisons. The mice do not.

So it's ok and there is no good reason to feel guilty as long as you don't get caught. Now I understand. You are a bug with a stronger defense mechanism but still no more valuable than a bug universally speaking.

OP again. No, I mentioned being civic minded before. We have evolved to get along. Since it is hard for humans to live outside of a group, we have come to understand that we have to get along with each other. So being a sociopath does not work. No one will trust you and you will be kicked out of the group quickly (maybe jail). Most of the time, humans don't alienate others who kill animals, unless they do it for fun. In those situations, it is taken case by case. Hunting for "fun" is accepted. Killing bison by the thousands would be odd, and we would worry that the individual will eventually turn on us....

Anonymously or not?

OP here. No, I am uncomfortable around them though.

You realize you are pre judging them based on thier beliefs, isn't that what you don't want them to do to you.

They don't know that I am uncomfortable.

So it is okay to be prejudice if the person you are prejudice against does not know?

Yes, but I am not prejudiced.

Nope. You'd be wrong about my believing I have a soul in the immortal, religious context that you're using the term. It would be nice if you were right, and I'd be happy to wake up after I died and discover I was wrong about the whole afterlife thing. And I freely admit I could be wrong because I can't prove I'm right. But, in the absence of evidence I just don't believe in either a deity or an immortal soul.

But you judge somebody based on something they wear or use to decorate their house, not on the content of their character. So you are pre-judging, you may not knowingly discriminate, but you are pre-judging.

Nah... You think you have a soul. Otherwise you wouldn't be so illogical and believe your opinion is of any more consequence than an ant fart. Feelings mixed with "generally accepted " morals and ethics (by who ? You?...me? Hitler?dick Chaney ?) is an illogical religion.

You don't know what "generally accepted" morals and ethics are?

Okay, try this experiment:

Go into a crowded place and say "Oh, my God!" -- Violation of the fourth commandment.

Watch to see what people do and say.

Now turn to the nearest person and murder them. -- Violation of the seventh commandment and also a "generally accepted" moral.

See the difference?

Some atheists are immoral murderers, and some Christians are also immoral murderers. Plenty of religious people are okay with murder, and many atheists feel that murder is wrong.

I actually agree with you that most people's opinions are no more consequential than an ant fart. I disagree that every opinion constitutes a "religion," but whatever terminology you care to use is fine.

How many OPs does this thread have anyway? There are so many atheist hanging out here wanting to give their opinions that I have a feeling even if we didn't "ask you anything", you would all tell us anyway.

^^ but you don't agree that YOUR opinion is as consequential as an ant fart. And that's why your religion is based on your feelings and is illogical.

I don't expect strangers to find my opinion of any consequence at all. I'm actually quite surprised that you're interested in my thoughts. I also don't care if you think I'm illogical. Nothing is less logical than organized religion. I'm also not sure you actually understand what "logic" is.

One or two people chimed in like they were the OP.
I am the OP and for the most part identified myself.

When people say "oh my God!"
Or "Jesus Christ!"... It gets attention since there is power in the name.

Nobody says "oh my generally accepted morals and ethics!" Or " oh Buddha!"

For good reason .. Lol.

Wrong. Organized religion can be based on untruths but it is logical . Atheists who believe they have no soul but are of greater value than all other soulless entities based on their feelings and personal ego are not logical.

OP here. I am using past experiences to form an opinion. I usually do not get along for very long with people who are extremely religious. It would not make sense to get close to a Christian fundamentalist since it is just a matter of time before they offend me or vice versa.
