I am an atheist, ask me anything.

why do you let groups like ISIS butcher innocent 6 year olds, cut off their heads and put them on a stick after making them watch the murder of their parents and siblings, put them through physical and emotional pain that is beyond belief?

It's all part of my mysterious plan. You will understand after you're dead.

The plan is completely laid out in the Bible. People get hung up on details.

Yes, details like slaughter and famine and disease and war and mighty storms. Just keep reading the Bible, interpreting it properly, of course, and you might be able see my divine plan, through all the translations, because I failed to preserve any original copies of My Divine Word. Oops, My Bad.

If that doesn't work, then just wait until you're dead and you'll meet me in person! I'll explain everything then and it will make perfect sense - but remember, you have to be dead first.

So, what do you like to be called? God? Allah? Vishnu? Zeus?

Agree. The question isn't hard to answer because it's "heavy," it's hard to answer because we want clarification of which god we are asking. The one who appeared to ancient Egyptians in many forms? The one who talked inside Joseph Smith's hat for a few years? The one who condones slavery, pillaging, raping and stoning as described in his holy book? The one who sprung out of her dad's forehead?

This is pretty simple, you gave a list of names, only one of which is God. Apparently it wasn't too heavy, just to complex.

Complex? Why "only one" god? Why is your monotheistic god, any more right than a polytheistic religion? Many would argue that the trinity is more a poly variation, than a mono god.

Wait, some of the religions listed are ancient, but not all, so you're probably a believer of either the slave sympathyizer or the voice inside the hat. But which one? I would hate to assume...

Not being a believer, I can't give a serious answer to the question of what I would ask God. But I am curious what the poser of the question would ask. Has s/he told us?

If you met God, what would you ask him?

1) What came before this universe and were you there?

2) Did you do something to cause this universe to start? If so, what, and was it simply an application of Clarke's Law?

3) Is the multiverse a single, enormous "space" with multiple universes popping in and out, or is it multiple "layers" of universes each inhabiting it's own "space"?

4) Did you create the "space" in which the multiverse exists? If not, who did? If you created our universe, have you created others? Are there other entities like you running around creating universes?

5) Did you create life on Earth through some direct action, or did it just happen because the conditions were right? If you did, why?

6) Is Earth the only planet where life has evolved? If so, why, and if not, what's it like elsewhere?

7) Do you actively intervene in human affairs? If so, why, and if you do, why is it such a mess?

8) Is there such a thing as a soul? If so, what happens to it after a person dies? Do all living things have souls, or just humans/sentients? If just humans/sentients, why?

9) Are you actually omniscient/omnipotent, or are there limits to your knowledge/abilities?

10) What's the last digit of Pi?

Yes, these are wonderful questions. If religious people actually thought about them and wondered why I leave them unanswered, fewer would believe in me. But there would still be others who had "faith" inculcated by my paid representatives on earth, some of whom are really nice people who do help my beloved human creatures with troubling life issues. Others of my paid reps are charlatans, but I have no control over that. I just do the good stuff.

The faithful believe in me no matter what, content that all their questions will be answered or be irrelevant after they are dead and in my divine presence. This is great for me, because I have no good answers for the living and once you're dead, you're dead. Joke's on you.
