What's the most amazing concert you ever saw?

So many. Holly Williams last night at The Hamilton, Anya Marina and Tristan Prettyman at The Hamilton, Jewel in Nashville, Lyle Lovett at Wolftrap, Three Girls and Their Buddy at Wolftrap...so, SO many.

Most memorable was backstage with Jewel in Baltimore when she said she was going to 'take out' the Baltimore Sun photographer and columnist who lied about her -and did just that. Love a chick with a pair!!

She's still always amazing. But the country music was a lot more high energy, and offered way more opportunities for her to do that thing she does, bending a harmony way out of shape and then bringing it back around just ... in ... time.

K.D Lang must have been great! Saw Hank Jr's daughter last night

The Rolling Sones 1989 Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle Tour, 8th row, RFK Stadium. Also: Prince Purple Rain Tour, 1984 Capital Center, floor seat. At several points during the Stones show my jaw was just agape at the wonder of being in the physical presence of Jagger. During the Prince show, some songs were so beautifully performed I wept. (Especially during the song Purple Rain.)

Righteous Puffy Louis XIV shirt!

There is no good music anymore.

K.D Lang sings and I am swept away and she is just the best, the end.

You call yourself hip and you don't know Arctic Monkeys?

I am in unhip 50 yr old and even I have heard of Foster the People and Article Monkeys. I even have a Foster the People song on my Iphone.

I was about to type the exact same thing (except I don't have an iPhone; I still use blackberry). Foster the People has even played SNL, for crying out loud.

+2, but I'm 45. Also, Fitz and the Tantrums.

And 'Sniff My Butthole' can't leave them off the list

I saw k.d. lang in the late 80s in Syracuse back when she was well-known in the lesbian community but not anywhere else. She had complete command of the stage and rocked the house. I felt like someone from an older generation might have felt when they first saw Elvis before he was famous. I remember thinking what a shame it was that she would never have a large audience because she was a lesbian.

Ha ha ha ha! I'm so glad that I was wrong about that!

Ever heard any of them live? Emmy Lou Harris pulling harmony while John Prine sings is artistry at its best. I suppose if someone wants a show with lots of pyrotechnics or stoned long riffs, then I can see why that type of artist might appeal. Me? I like a pure voice, a good guitar and a good story.

Hoping to have the opportunity to go on one of Cayamo's cruises and joining in the fun. Seems like a great trip to play some guitar and write some music, alone and with others.
