To Bullis, from a Prospective Family: Stadium Songs Containing the "N Word"

The problem with Bullis is they have built there program the wrong way. Cilento has openly gone after the top recruits from local Public School powers and even much worst kids from schools with his own league. The basketball coach does the same thing. Cilento had two kids on his team last Fall, both of them were kicked out of Landon but Bullis accepted them. (shocker.. both were very good football players) One of the Landon kids Bullis accepted, was asked not to come back this Summer due to discipline reasons and ended up at Calvert Hall this Fall for football. Bullis also accepted another kid from Landon last Fall (he too is a good football player) from Landon last Fall who essentially flunked out of 9th grade. One of the former Landon kids on Bullis team this year was ejected during the Bullis - Landon football game for throwing a punch. Congrats to Bullis on the IAC banner but maybe spineless Headmaster and Football coach should learn think about by playing by the rules or you too will be kicked out of the IAC and Prep will come back in to replace you.

This is the same "logic" that so many in this city are now using to defend the objectively racist nickname and logo of our local professional football team. Don't you get it? It's not whether YOU find a term (or logo) racist, it's whether the term (or logo) is offensive (within reason) to some group.

Only in DC will you see kids wearing the racist symbols of our professional football team being unloaded from a SUV with TOLERANCE or COEXIST bumper stickers. What are those parents thinking when they buy that racist “gear” for their children?

The word was in a popular pop song and not said in a derogatory way. If they were playing Rush Limbaugh, then I'd be offended. But a pop song? No.

Again, it isn't whether YOU are offended, it is whether others might be offended (within reason).

What you say may be true, but the game was played AT Episcopal. The OP questions the way Bullis conducts its football program at HOME in Potomac.

Thanks, glad to hear it was a great experience all round. Overall we have been impressed with the school. Congrats to the football team.
