PP, the moral arc of the universe is long, but it bends toward justice.

This is not, in fact, true.

I had to to to the ER and had severely low blood pressure - the nurse reacted in a shocked and nervous way to the number. I don't think I was in imminent danger of death, but I would have been in a lot of danger if I didn't get treatment.

I was driving home from a wedding in the mountains of Ojai after two or three glasses of wine. I started to drift over the center and corrected myself before another car came around the curve. I was a little sleepy but didn't believe I was tipsy at the time.

Screw you -- drunk driving is inexcusable. You should be ashamed of yourself. 2-3 glasses of wine is most certainly enough to impair your judgment and driving.

Same to you buddy. I'm still here, btw.

Bronchitis turned into pneumonia.

I took and anti nausea pill the day before then got into the car and drove to another town an hour away. All of a sudden I started to fall asleep, I slept on and off while driving. Some 16 hours later that drug was still affecting me.

I am a physician who often has to work overnight. The other morning, I was driving home and made a left towards the very end of a light. My judgement was slowed and I didn't realize the other side was 4 lanes of traffic - their green had come before I was in the road and I honked to try to alert them. It felt really awful - I saw 4 lanes of cars coming at me. By the grace of god, they all stopped.

I hear you. Same profession and I sometimes wonder how I make it home after a brutal work day. I once suddenly fell completely asleep on I-95.

Another almost drowned story

I was 5, at swimming lessons for free swim they told us we could go off the diving board. So I did, even though I couldn't really swim yet. I remember sinking to the bottom if the pool and could feel my stomach on the bottom. I didn't freak out, I just remember how peaceful it was. I must have passed out without sucking in water because the next thing I remember was the life guard starting mouth to mouth.

Luckily my mother had come early to get me, she didn't see my swimming and then saw me in the bottom if the pool, can't even imagine how scary that must have been.

I'm just lucky I didn't suck in water or panic, still to this day I love being under water, it is very peacefull to me. I'm glad it didn't scar me for life
