Lol, there are plenty of suburbs of Chicago (and other Midwestern cities) that are more similar than different to Bethesda or McLean. I would hazard a guess an upper middle class kid from Bethesda and an upper middle class kid from Winnetka are going to be similar to one another than either would be to a rural farm kid from Southern IL. |
| I can't imagine the appeal of attending a university where 80% of the student body hails from......Wisconsin. |
| Do New York employers recruit on campus? |
Well I guess it’s a good thing only 62% hail from Wisconsin 🙄 |
You should be so lucky. Wisconsin is a great state with great people. But they don’t want elitist wannabes like you coming in and ruining that, so you just stay in NOVA. |
I can't imagine the appeal of writing a hateful comment that would be hurtful to many good people. But you know, you do you. By the way, where are you from? |
You are really leading with your chin here. College Park isn’t a very desirable place to attend school. |
I'm sure Wisconsin is full of great people but why would anybody OOS want to endure the dull homogeneity of any state school? |
It's not that homogeneous. Yes, Wisconsin is a very white state, but Madison and the University reflect more diversity than the state. It could be a lot better, but it's not all lily white. |
| Don’t try to apologize for Wisconsin. It’s a great school in a great state. Great combination of academics, athletics and school spirit. Anyone who attends is lucky to be there. |
Actually, Madison is not diverse at all. While there may be many races there, the ideological conformity is oppressive, much like DCUM Madison is controlled by the goose-stepping and fascist liberal "elite" just like almost every other college town. If you want to experience real people, the Wisconsin tavern culture is always available with a short field trip. If you want to stay in your liberal cocoon, be sure to take a dump in the lap of the Lincoln statue on the top of Bascom Hill. |
| "Tavern culture"? What's that? |
| For computer science major, would you recommend Wisconsin or UMD (in-state) for a smart kid that isn’t into sports or parties (on autism spectrum but highly intelligent). We have money for both schools. |
I see you missed the Smithsonian folklife festival of 1998.
|
These vague references suggest to me you are an oldie and yeah, I admit, I'm probably a philistine. |
