Which of the "top 3" or "top 5" private schools has the best track record at the Ivies?

Anecdotes don't take the form of x% of the class did this or GDS did better than school y. Those are claims that require systematic knowledge that parents/students don't have. Which, to me, makes those statements obvious BS and they're done in such an obnoxious tone that I find it hard to believe anyone trying to promote the school made those posts.

. Someone has made that their own particular form of Internet trolling for a while now.

I have no idea which school's students were accepted at the most Ivies. But, I do know at the school our kids attend, no one talks about acceptances, regardless of what they are. Is it really true that kids at some schools are generally sharing that much with each other and other kids' parents!?! It's unclear to me how anyone would know much until kids decide where they will matriculate. And that doesn't provide info about acceptances (and frankly, that's how it should be).

1)bs
2)your kids are at a school where college isn't a high priority
3)you don't have any friends among the parents at your kids' school

These (and many, many others including public schools in this region) are ALL excellent schools. Stop the hyper-competitive madness. For inspiration, read the schools' mission statements. Then, read this in today's Post:

"It’s a dismal learning trajectory: The point of high school is to get into the college that rejects the highest percentage of its applicants; the point of college is to gain access to employers or graduate programs that turn away the greatest number of qualified candidates; the point of life is to have more of the stuff that other people are unable to acquire. What a sorry, soul-killing lesson this is: to value things only to the extent that other people are deprived of them."

I recently saw the GDS rowing team practicing and several were wearing Harvard gear, so I assume that several team members will attend Harvard or have older siblings there.

PP here. You're right; I don't gossip with other parents, though I still consider them friends.
I can assure you college is a high priority and I do believe everyone who graduates goes on to college. In fact, many of them go on to Ivy League/top 20/SLAC/or whatever institutions. But, I don't know all the schools at which they were accepted. My point was that I don't believe anyone else posting about this on these boards knows either (unless they are college counselors, which I think unlikely).

This is incredible. People will just post anything. I'm a new poster here but Sidwell is absolutely on there as originally claimed. Completely unimportant but it's sitting right there on the web site, it's not a matter of subjective opinion. Just a good reminder that you can't trust anonymous posts even for the most easily verifiable facts.

I see "Radcliffe" listed at #13. You've got the women's listing there, and I guess the crew team still goes by Radcliffe? Interesting.

The point was that poster implied a gds crew team had Connections to the Harvard team and there was nobody on the Harvard crew teams from gds

It's also possible that the GDS students will join Harvard rowing when they matriculate next year, or maybe they will not pursue crew there in favor of involvement on some other college activity. This time of year seniors wear the clothing of their chosen college, so it's reasonsble to conclude that several GDS seniors are Cambridge-bound.
