Did you mean ED? Or were you not referring to Wake?

Different poster. But Wake is definitely one of those schools that emphasizes ED. If your kids got in RD, consider yourself very lucky.

Wake is a university, not an LAC.

But it is largely a liberal arts school. The majority of students enrolled in top 40 universities in USNWR are in liberal arts programs. The largest undergraduate component of UVA by far is the College of Arts and Sciences.

I never heard of the school until I saw it mentioned on DCUMs. So no, I won't be paying for DC to attend.

Then you and kids are not educated enough to go there anyway. Good fit!

If you are not aware of Wake then you missing out on quality education with small class sizes. Outstanding score.

It is funny when people boast that they haven’t heard of a top 30 university, as though that somehow reflects badly on the school, and not them.

Then you probs did not have the money to afford it or the grades to get in. No worries. Are you a hiring manager or a grad school admissions person?

Hahha I love that this is framed as a sort of "gotcha" but since you ask -- and I know you probably won't believe me what with the anonymity of the internet and all -- I graduated from an Ivy many moons ago, and yes, am currently a hiring manager at my company.

Ivy grad ? Not likely. Troll - totally likely

Don’t send your daughter to Wake Forest unless she’s a southern money debutant raised and has the correct “old” family name (Grand Mamma went there and was in the best sorority). You know, that dying breed who can’t suffer their own mediocrity when removed from the bubble.

Why doesn't this "analysis" also apply to our sons?

I will say the two women I know who went there for undergrad fit this to a T.
Blond, country club, family money, southern snob, socially Republican but not Trumpers of course, today working in art galleries etc.
That said, the grad schools are a different story, and the two people I know who got their MBAs from Wake are first-gen immigrants and have both done extraordinarily well based on their smarts, not their breeding, and have great things to say about the MBA program.

Agree that Wake students are uber wealthy, but not southern Republicans. I don’t see that at all. They have big draw from New York, Chicago, DC and Atlanta. Kids don’t go there if they are spoiled, too much work.

Isn't this the way it is at UNC and Duke?

I went to Wake undergrad and none of these stereotypes apply to me.
