I know I need to do sit ups and strengthen it but I also need to lose the tire that is around my waist. Any ideas?

Any advice?

This is what worked for me.

Stand up (but have something to lean on...like a chair), lift one straight leg up and down to the side (not front like a kick), do this slowly about 30 reps. Next, with the same leg...hold it out to the side and do short side kicks about 30 (You are only kicking from knee to foot. Your thigh should not move.) Next, with the same leg (hold it up like you are going to kick box and do 30 more reps.) (This time you are kick boxing with your whole leg.) Repeat on other leg. It really works your stomach.

Do you think this is better than crunches?

For me...yes! It works your whole stomach and legs/thighs at the same time. I hope my explanation made sense. I wish I could draw pictures. It would make more sense.

I have PCOS, and basically starve myself.

We went out to dinner with another couple last night. The wife of the other couple is in her early 50s and extremely thin. Turns out she rarely eats meat and doesn't like alcohol. Well, alrighty then, if what I preferred was the lentils and all the side dishes of a 4 course meal, and merely nibbled on the meat and had a sip or two of wine, then I'd be thin too. Alas, that will never be me.

You drink an entire glass of wine for yourself? AND eat a meal at dinner time? No wonder you're so fat.

The secret to staying thin? Put down the damn fork and move your body.

For me it really truly is genetics. I used to have binge eating disorder. I would eat junk food until it hurt several times a week but I never went more than five pounds over my natural weight. While pregnant, I ate an extra thousand calories a day. I only gained 28 lbs. I lost all but two pounds in two weeks. On the other hand, if I want to lose five pounds, its hard. I can't do it without going hungry and it always comes back. My body likes being a particular size and I can't do much to change that. I'm luck that it likes being thin.
