Beauty definitions are culturally constructed. As, to some extent, are definitions of health.
There's this idea that white men will go out with a really dark skinned woman as long as she's skinny, and a black man will date a very large woman so long as she's light-skinned. I think this (in short-hand) demonstrates (in broad strokes) how some of the beauty norms differ.
I think it could be productive to have further dialogue about this, but only if posters stay on track and steer clear of harsh and judgmental language. (So, it's not likely that this interesting topic will go very far. Sigh.)
